In the commentary track, Akiva Goldsman outlines the sequel during the end credits and it sounded excellent.

I'm all for "so bad it's good" films but man this was a stinker. We got our first DVD player around this time and it came with three films, one being this. We were sooo excited to try out this new technology and even then we couldn't finish this film.

I'm glad it's available in a high quality for those that do like it though

A terrible film outside of the opening and the spider sequence. With that said I'll probably buy it just for Oldman's great performance.
