Received last week. Just like the other two recent editions for The Fall Of The Roman Empire and 55 Days At Peking, they packaging is quite superior.
Picture quality seems ok, not an expert. The hype sticker says they used a High Definition master (albeit not a new one, read what you want into that). Subtitles are not forced. Extras are only in SD as they are on DVD no.2 For now, photos of the release. ![]() ![]() |

Hello,
could someone please take pictures of the inside of the digibook? I am interested in what the layout looks like and what images they used. |

French disc is from the same master as the UK, but has the Overture, Intermission and Exit Music cut, so it runs 9 minutes shorter (179 vs 188).
It is also brighter, reducing contrast and making some interior shots look slightly faded / washed-out. Extras are: A 36-minute lecture by some French bloke standing, bizarrely, half-way up a staircase. This 25-minute animation called Le Cid. A documentary about the Making Of... the animation ![]() French top, UK bottom: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If you thought I was exaggerating, here's the bloke on the starcase... ![]() ![]() |

Both releases look awful but the Rimini one manages to look even worse than the UK release... It's heartbreaking, considering what this film could and should look like... Oh well, at least the bloke on the stairs made me smile. |

The Remini French disc I have is complete with Overture, Entr’acte and Exit music. It is the best sounding version I own(have 3 of them). Japanese appears to be the best looking but the sound is tinny. UK version did not impress. When I watch El Cid it’s the Remini version…

Perhaps I should have mentioned, in my comparison, that my French BD is by Opening, not Rimini.
