Bewitched – Seasons 7 & 8 (1970 – 1972) – Imprint Television #15
September 24th

WITH THE TWITCH OF A NOSE, BEWITCHED POPS UP IN HIGH-DEFINITION!

United by love, Darrin and Samantha Stephens may look like a classic American couple, but they have a secret that distinguishes them from their suburban neighbours – ad executive Darrin is a mortal, but Samantha is a beautiful witch. While Samantha is mostly content with living life as a mortal, her mother, Endora, cannot imagine what she sees in Darrin. Although Samantha does her best to avoid using her magical powers, sometimes she just can’t resist.

Elizabeth Montgomery is joined by Dick Sargent as Darrin, along with Agnes Moorehead, David White, and many more beloved actors round out the sensational ensemble for this much-loved classic fantasy sitcom – now coming to Blu-ray for the very first time.

Season 7 has so many strong episodes in it. Especially the episodes filmed in Salem and, of course, Endora, being named "Mother-in-law of the year", is worth buying the set for alone! Dick Sargent had also perfected his spin on the Darrin character after frankly doing a bit of an impression of Dick York's interpretation for the early part of season 6.

His dry responses to Endora and reactions to magic are more measured, as they would be from someone who has been around magical mayhem for so long. Looking forward to seeing this season on Blu-ray.

I’m likely in the minority but I prefer Dick Sargent over Dick York. These sets are just really well thought out and executed.

Not that it's of any consequence, but I REALLY dislike the orange covers for this set. I much would have preferred, say, something like a pale apple green for example....

Interesting that each volume included the same commentaries as the Mill Creek counterpart, but this final volume appears to be the exception. I wonder if something went down.

If there are no commentaries on this set, that would mean the Imprint version will be missing 7 of the 16 audio commentaries. Though---why on earth would the final two seasons get 7 commentary tracks between them, when these are the worst seasons of the show, is a question....

Far as I was aware, it was Mill Creek and NOT Sony who commissioned the commentary tracks, and I assumed that Imprint licensed these tracks for use on their own release. So I'm not sure why they wouldn't be included in the final set.

There are commentaries on this set. They are listed on the order page but not in the first post on this thread.

Thanks for clearing that up. I believe Imprint often produces their own commentary tracks which are exclusive to their releases, but in this case they used what Mill Creek had put together.
