Most umbrella discs have reversible art with no rating on the other side

Martyrs also has reversible cover art on the inside, but I prefer having a description on the backside, and AU rating still looks better than the german FSK rating logos

Right on! The FSK logos look horrendous, which is one of the reasons I rarely get German releases!

Haven't seen this one. The gore in it seems to have a reputation. Where does it rank in terms of gore compared to say Hostel or the Sadness? Worse? On par?

I like Hostel (not for the gore itself), and I was so-so on the Sadness (more so for the movie itself and not because of the gore level, which is probably too much).

This film is brutal, but at the end of the day its not real and the violence depicted is no worse than some of the death scenes in the SAW movies.
Stigdu was probably just referencing the type of headline you would see in British tabloids around the time of the whole video nasty debate. At least that's how I read it.

Speaking of which, what a crazy time to be alive in, when titles like Martyrs can get deluxe editions on the best video format ever and with plenty of extras to put it in context. I imagine Mary Whitehouse is spinning so fast in her grave that you could power a sizeable British town from the energy.

The Sadness at least is considerably gorier. Hostel, maybe but it’s a different type of film.

It has a few gory moments; with the worst bit we only see the aftermath. A lot of the violence (maybe spoiler)
[Show spoiler]amounts to stuff like shotgun blasts or being beaten.

Watched this last year and I don't think I've ever felt so drained after watching a film. Told myself I'd never put myself through it again.

Instant preorder.

Way to save the planet! Clean "zero emissions" energy at its finest!

Some boutique label should bring us Á l'interieur and Frontiers next (looking at you, Second Sight!), to increase her rotational speed and maximize energy output!

Correct, sir. I believe it was the Daily Mail that first headlined using the phrase during the video nasty boom.

Martyrs is a fantastic film, and one I pre-ordered almost straight away.

I believe research is being undertaken and has shown and will show that this sick filth affects not only humans but also affects dogs as well.

I am quite tempted but wonder if there will be a standard 4k as I don't really want the extra stuff, nice as it is.

Many german releases have reversible covers or stickers
thats why I always check before buying, sometimes only the first release has a reversible cover, and some Labels like Fox (rereleased by Leonine) don't have reversible covers.

Just finished watching this movie.

Carry on.

I wasn't sure as I have no previous interactions with that member. I just know many people feel this way about the movie.

I am happy it ended up being satire.

I'm aware that many German releases have a reversible slip, they do for good reasons (but Warner catalogue titles do not). But there are other things, why I appreciate releases in English. For one thing, having the description texts in German in many cases feels "cringe" to me. I'm a bit of a weirdo...

Was it your first time watching Martyrs? What did you think?

Most of the Warner catalogue titles have a reversible cover. But I also doublecheck online before ordering just to be sure.

Yes I watched it the first time, after seeing the end of this movie all that violence made some kind of sense.
After all a good movie if you like this kind of movies
