Default Which movies have predicted the future most accurately?

There have been many movies that have tried to predict what life would be like decades into the future. Such movies include the 1927 film "Metropolis", the 1968 film "2001: A Space Odyssey", and the 1982 film "Blade Runner". Some movies have predicted the future by creating immersive futuristic worlds, others have merely used the text of conversations. But which movies that have predicted the future got it right decades after the movies were made?

I would love to hear your responses. Enjoy the rest of your day.

That's an interesting choice, because I never thought of that film as a science fiction film. How did it correctly predict the future? Please let me know.

Blade Runner, what with corporate interest interfering with society in increasingly disturbing ways, to say nothing of climate change.

Total Recall. It accurately predicted:
  1. Driverless cars

  2. Women with three breasts

Demolition Man.

A quick google search lists these things it got right:

Social Restrictions: Smoking etc

Video conferencing with handheld devices.

Biometric implants.

Voice activated appliances.

The rise of Taco Bell (that's an american thing isn't it?)

Machines used to fine people for bad language (social media parallel)

Driverless cars.

Back to the Future 2 I guess some will say predicted the future, with flying cars (drone cars exist, just not popular yet), hover boards (drone boards, not those "hover scooters" that don't even float above ground), sneakers that tie themselves (slip on shoes), 3D holograms and Jaws having countless sequels. Cars that run on garbage for fuel? Not yet.

I don't necessarily agree it predicted the future just yet. Maybe in another 50 years in 2075.

Soylent Green. This planet will only support 9 to 10 billion people, we're at 8 billion now. Sometime after 2050 the $hit is going to hit the fan. But don't worry, according to experts people are going to stop having sex and the population will peak at 9 billion.

It was also one year off in predicting the Cubs winning the World Series.
