Hopefully a fan of the movie can give a good explanation of what this movie is.
The previews made the movie seem a certain way, which it wasn't, and when I watched it years ago it made it difficult to enjoy because my mind already had an idea of what it was supposed to be. Del Toro has said that the studio promoted it improperly, but I still don't know exactly what his intentions were. I want to give my bluray another watch some time, but with an accurate idea of what I'm about to watch.

Think less horror (although, that's there) and more Rebecca or Jane Eyre with ghosts and
[Show spoiler]100% more incest.

I remember watching this when the original blu-ray came out and I felt a little disappointed. It didn't quite live up to my expectations as I was expecting it to go one way and it went in another direction. I liked the visual style and mood of the film though and I decided to give it another go on 4K. I enjoyed it much more this time around as I knew what to expect, although my memory of the exact events had faded. It is an interesting story that you don't see often, dressed up as a gothic horror.

Del Toro is a very visual story teller and this 4K demonstrates that perfectly. This transfer is leagues better, so much depth, colour and contrast to the image that it comes alive. Films that were once okay but not really memorable seem to be given a new lease of life on the format and you can really appreciate what they were going for.

I received my copy without a slipcover. Was the only way to get a slipcover was to order from Arrowvideo?

The LE came in a box, the regular release doesn’t have the box or a slip.

Completely agree. At least for this movie, that was my experience!

I was disappointed with the new 50-minute "documentary". It's just the EPK interviews strung together with very little BTS footage.

Does Arrow do re-releases? Would love to own the regular copy of this but it appears to be sold out, unless I’m browsing wrong.

It's available at Amazon and other retailers. Barnes and Noble will be having an Arrow sale soon so you might want to wait till then to buy it.

The trailers completely misrepresented this film, as I kind of felt the same way after my first viewing, but once I saw the movie a second time, going into it with different expectations, I fell in love with it and it's one of my favorites now.

Owning the Arrow LE 4K, this is one of my more treasured movies in my collection.

Could you guys recommend other Arrow 4ks to get me free shipping at Barnes and Nobles?

I already have Dune, Tremors, and Hellraiser

Watched this just now and the 4K is a revelation. Bummed I missed out the LE but I'll take the standard 4K over nothing.

Default Guess what’s at the end of Crimson Peak on Arrow Video 4K

I’m guessing there was nothing after the end credits, and go straight to the main menu. Right?

The Limited Edition was certainly unique and well worth the relatively small price increase over the standard edition. But the standard does have some perks, aside from being much more shelf-friendly and having the option of the original theatrical poster art with its reversible cover. At least Arrow cases make it fairly easy to frankenstein a 4K/2K combo, with interior hooks that fit typical Viva trays. Of course, the limited did have an actual miniature poster and was probably roomy enough to hold the BD in a paper sleeve.
