Default Super Mario Odyssey Switch 2 Version?

I was just wondering since both Zelda games got a Switch 2 version released, if Super Mario Odyssey would as well? I could definitely be wrong, but it did crossed my mind.

Update your game. As of version 1.4.0 you should have

Quote:
Native 1080p handheld mode for crisper details on its larger 7.9″ LCD display.

Up to 4K output in TV mode, leveraging HDR support for richer color and contrast (requires an HDR-compatible TV).

Optimized frame pacing that keeps Mario’s adventures rock-solid at 60 fps—even in the busiest kingdoms.

GameShare support, letting two players team up locally or online, one controlling Mario and the other Cappy.
This is one of the free updates. Less substantial but still extremely welcome.

Just FYI, it’s on sale for $39.99 on the Nintendo EShop right now.

Pretty good. I played it to death on NS1 so I just want Odyssey 2.

HDR, higher FPS, and sharper image is pretty much all I want. If they're going to charge for anything more than that, I'd prefer they not do more.

The Nintendo Switch 1 is enough for me.

I really would have liked to see a Switch 2 version of Mario Odyssey with expansion pack/new content. Especially so given they opted not to release a 3D Mario early in the Switch 2 lifestyle. That being a said, the free Switch 2 upgrade for the Switch Mario Odyssey is pretty solid.

Funny how all these years later Mario Odyssey is STILL $60. I mean, I get the new import taxes imposed and stuff... but Canada and Europe have also NOT reduced the prices of the game, so the real reason is obvious. Money.

Yes, the lack of Nintendo Selects/Players Choice discounted games is concerning. Nintendo has been very strict with 1st party discounts.

Exactly. People nowadays are like "BUH BUH THE GAME VOUCHERS", which merely seems like some confusing ripoff service Blockbuster would've offered in the 2000s.

who are these people?

pretty sure most people don't think the vouchers are a good "deal", it's just a way to save $20 because Nintendo are too greedy to discount their games like other publishers

they're actually a rip off in some cases, because you need an online subscription to buy one, AND to use it, so if your subscription expired before using it, you can't use it until you renew

For digital users, game vouchers were pretty great. I think all first party games were included, so getting two games for $100 vs the same two games for $120 was pretty nice. Plus Costco sells eShop cards for 10% off, so it worked out to $90 ($45 per game).

Also nice if you use the JP eShop, exchange rates have been really favorable. Slightly different selection over there, but the last time I used the vouchers it worked out to ~$72 ($36 per game).

Yeah, I can see that. If the only benefit of subscribing to NSO is the $20 discount, you'd have to use it a few times or else it doesn't save you any money overall. I guess it comes down to how much online play or NES/SNES classics you play before you can call it a valuable service.

I'm done with game subscriptions though. PS+ just ran out, NSO expires in Jan, GP is "free" until Oct 2026 (thanks to MS rewards points I haven't paid since June 2019). I only play one game online and it includes a PC version, so I just don't see the point in subscriptions anymore.
