More than a tad perplexed by some of the comments I've seen from various people on the internet heralding this as the "return of comedy" or some such. It was decent. Nothing more. Some big laughs, but plenty of the jokes didn't land aswell, or are a bit too far on the childish, juvenile side. The trailer ruined a few of the better gags too.
Neeson was great though, and I hope this does well enough that it leads to better comedies getting a green light. 3/5 |

I really liked the car windshield scene. That was entertaining along with the whole auto driving car.
I think with my expectations out of the way, this will be more fun on a second view, but I did like it. I think Loni Anderson, the woman from the 1970s KRP Radio in Cincinatti TV series sitcom, died the other day, on the news station. I haven't double checked to learn more. Okay, she died at 79 from a long term illness. So that is Ozzy, Hulk Hogan, Malcolm Jamal Warner (Cosby show), and Loni Anderson in 2025 just within weeks of each other. |

For movies I care about I only watch like 20/30 seconds to get a feel of the mood or tone. Cutting together a good trailer that DOESN'T spoil everything is just another lost art in Hollywood, with a few exceptions. |

Ultimately, the experience has been more rewarding, and honestly if I saw the trailer first or just waited for streaming I don't think I would've given them their due. I'm telling you (and everybody), you should really give this a shot if you find movie-watching to generally be a pleasing experience. |

I like to watch the trailers they show before the feature presentations. I pretty often stumble on movies I put on my watchlist after. The vast majority of trailers I see don't give away too much. It's basically just the ones that don't have much else to tell that show too much in their trailers and those are usually highly commercial run-of-the-mill Hollywood productions.

I just saw She Rides Shotgun yesterday, went in completely blind. Didn't know the rating, genre, runtime, cast, nothin'. I enjoyed my experience, but had I watched the trailer (just checked it out), I can piece together that whole movie. The word "spoiler" might play loosely since I don't know how it will end, but I let pieces connect where I might not feel tension in the movie as a result anymore. I insist on not seeing comedy trailers anymore. They have to sell you with your punchlines, and I gotta experience them first in theaters. Same goes for horror movies. Not that jump scares are everything, but they are a part of most of their experiences and are a selling point for most. Heh, I still remember to this day when the money shot for The Fast and the Furious trailer was a car driving under a truck (which is what made me want to see the movie), and that happens in the first minute of the film. Well done, I guess! |
