Rome by HBO (their stupidest decision ever) and Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles which ended on a massive cliffhanger!

These mistakes can never be mended either in the form of a continuation since either key people have died or they've aged out of the parts.

Both series were hellishly entertaining and left you wanting more.

So true!! I didn't watch the show until I blind-bought it on BD (really cheap from Hamilton Book, I think) and really enjoyed it! I knew it wasn't canceled too soon, but I didn't fully understand that until I got to the end of S2. So frustrating!

I really liked "Fear Itself" from 2008, said to be the network TV version of "Masters of Horror".

Doug Jones' episode as the Wendigo was great.

Agent Carter
Ash Vs Evil Dead
Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors
Dungeons and Dragons
Tripods

basically anything that ends without a proper conclusion, or on a cliffhanger.

I just watched this on Tubi and loved it. Of course, it ends on a cliffhanger.

That would be a very long list.

Ones I ended up liking and had never watched:

Secret Circle
Twisted

Unfortunately with these shows, they usually end on cliffhangers.

Ones I'd like to watch/re-watch are:
Alcatraz
Fastlane
Dresden Files
Invasion
Surface
Ringer
with Sarah Michelle Gellar

Some I can't find anywhere are:
Journeyman
New Amsterdam (2008)
Drive
with Nathan Fillion and Emma Stone before she got famous.
Tarzan with Travis Fimmel.
North Shore (2004)
Hawaii (2004)

How about you guys? Any cancelled series you'd like to revisit?

Anyone remember the site iOffer? I used to buy a lot of "unavailable" shows off of there.
I did find a reasonable priced copy of Journeyman on EBAY

Update 2025/08/11 - Currently sold out.

These shows were still good when they went bye bye:

Gidget (1 season)
The Jetsons (1 season)
Jonny Quest (1 season)
The Munsters (2 seasons)
Zorro (2 seasons plus four additional hours on Disney anthology)

At least those came back 20 years later.

'Invasion' from 2005.

CBS tried to pull in the 'Lost' viewers from it's 9pm broadcast and have them stick around afterward for the 10pm broadcast of 'Invasion'.

Too slow-burn and weird for broadcast TV. It would have done very well in the streaming era, however. The screenplays were admittedly winging it with the ideas but it was strangely intriguing.

Viewership declined significantly by the last few episodes that they ended it on a season/series ending that was too abrupt.

Joan of Arcadia
Terra Nova
Freaks and Geeks
Firefly
Stargate Universe ... any Stargate that ends is sad.
Star Trek Enterprise (should've had the min 7 year run like other series)
