I'm not sure what happened to your Via Vision/Indicator order, but surely they're not a scam. I'd say it just got lost in the order shuffle, this can happen anywhere.
I received my 85-89 AHP set from them yesterday. It only took 9 days to arrive, with the Thanksgiving interruption. I haven't played a single disc yet, but it surely makes a nice, heavy bookend to protect the precious & more fragile classic series set on the shelf. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I contacted Via Vision a week after I placed my order and they said I need to wait two weeks for orders to process before it ships, which admittedly, I didn’t see in their policy when I placed the order. So in good faith, I waited the two weeks and they still didn’t ship it. So I asked them to cancel the order and refund my money, and the next day they said they will ship my order asap, which they did. They may not be a scam but this is the worst service I’ve ever encountered in any online retailer. How the hell do they take two weeks to process an order when the item is in stock?!?! |

The packaging states the entire 85-89 set is in 2.0 stereo, though the packaging also states region 4 (it is in fact region free). But frankly, the audio isn't very good, flat and muffled. Nor is the video. It's by far the worst a/v quality of any of the Via Vision's dvd sets I own (a disclaimer appears on each disc stating it's sourced from the only available source). Obviously from tape masters (2"?). Still very happy to have the series, even if I am peeved by seeing they were obviously originally shot on film.

I just got my set. Yes, it says Stereo back on the main cover, but i noticed it says Mono on the back covers of the actual seasons covers. So, the Stereo on the back cover is obviously a mistake. I checked the audio on my player. Seems like all episodes have 224 kbps in bitrate on the Mono tracks. That's nice. I expected them to be 192. Now, they will sound a little clearer because of the higher audio bitrate.

Seems like i made a mistake. I just tested one season 1 episode and set my soundbar to Adaptive, so i can surround sound from Stereo tracks. Colour me suprised, i got surround sound of the surprisingly enough a Stereo track. I thought it was only Mono. I'm happy now. Why does it say Mono on the seasons back cover? When the main back cover says Stereo? The main back cover was right all along. Strange.
Update: All season 1 episodes are in Stereo. Last edited by Jompa; 01-21-2025 at 06:35 PM. |
