Universal has been aces at releasing catalog TV shows on blu-ray. If something like this can get released, I wonder if we'll get Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

Well if universal can't i'm hoping Imprint does since they are releasing The Hitchcock Hour Season 1 on Blu-ray from Via Vision.

Will be checking Emergency out proper (I recall looking at the series many years ago when I knew of the US DVD releases). I might be tempted into getting this if there are no issues of any kind (eg: playback of the discs and the packaging).

As for Sierra, if the original elements for it are not lost, I'd be hoping that Via Vision might do at least a DVD release (some other short-lived series from decades ago I've been hoping they might do releases of if the elements are not lost and there aren't any rights/clearance issues).

I think I might pick this up at some point as this is a classic 70s TV show that I do really enjoy. I don't pick up many live action tv shows on Blu-Ray, but I'll make an exception for this one as MeTv introduced me to this show, and I ended up becoming a fan of it. So I will be picking this up next year.

This was my mom's favorite TV show back in the 70's. I've been re-watching it on FETV for the last few years & I think this is the best show about firefighters ever made for TV. I can see why this show changed the way our country did emergency care & made many want to be firefighters. The cast is wonderful, the stories are well told and after the first season they basically filmed all the firefighter scenes on locations, which adds a nice realism to the show. Now I have to get this and Columbo.

Default Pilot and Final Rescue Movies

I already placed the Pre-order. But does anyone know if the pilot and Final rescues will be the original un-edited versions or broken up into the syndicated episodes? For the DVDs they were un-edited.

While I'm not particularly interested in Emergency, I do applaud Universal's recent efforts with catalog television on blu. If we're talking about Jack Webb, I would also like to have Dragnet (in both its B&W and color versions) and Adam-12 upgraded to blu.

One last lament - if we can get all of Emergency, Leave It to Beaver, The A-Team, Murder, She Wrote, and Knight Rider (on 4K no less), what is the hold-up on relatively two measly seasons of The Munsters?

Black and White Dragnet will probably never happen, since they've been locked in a vault since the 60s and didn't even get videotape masters in the 80s. They would need all new scans from the original 35mm film, and that would cost more than they'd probably make back.

The color version, though, should be ready to go.

There's also the issue that much of the B&W Dragnet is PD so Universal may not have much desire to do anything with it. One can still dream though.

Wouldn't they want that content for streaming?

Will this be available through Amazon?

Hopefully the TV movies (season 7) will be complete and unedited not the 2 parters as shown in syndication.

Sadly, many B&W episodes are considered lost.

Episodes of the original, black and white Dragnet (1951-1959) are considered lost. While a large number of episodes have been recovered and released, it's estimated that around 64-66 episodes have been found from the original 276, meaning a significant portion is missing. The missing episodes primarily stem from the early seasons, with some missing from every season.

Truer words were never spoken. I love her voice...

And she was great in Nabonga (1944)!

Quantity also plays a role. The entire 50's Dragnet is 276 episodes. A massive undertaking. Even if they could make the $$ back, the initial investment would be enormous.

Most of the Black and White episodes are considered lost.
