Honestly, I'm surprised that it's getting a steelbook release, considering how badly it did. I thought it was quite well made, even if it wasn't the original vision. I'll pick it up, if only to keep supporting Pixar.

Isn't that what all movies are doing, release it on physcial media to earn more money.
If box office fails then physical media and streaming is anotehr way of making money.

considering how fast, 2-3 months after theatrical release, movies get a physical copy, steelbooks are planned well in advance...

Except if there's a 3D version, like this film had. That's what makes this SteelBook a joke - it used to be the case that every Pixar movie had an exclusive SteelBook somewhere that included a 3D version but now that all their disc releases are flat they just seem like very bad value. I just don't want to watch 3D animation in 2D any more, let alone pay premium prices for it.

Is it just me or is Target not auto subjecting the 5% for Red Card? I'm Red Card & 360 Member even. I tested another movie and it worked for that pre-order.

Probably stupid on my part since I shop there so often, but my wife never wanted to add another credit card, so we never got a Red Card.

Preordered. This release is just 3 weeks from the announcement. What a tiny window.

Gotta show the love for Pixar animation.

Btw, my guess is Sony gets a $10 cut on each of these $45 steelbooks.

Every steelbook is listed as 'Limited Edition', and they end up being mass produced.
If it were actually limited edition they'd tell us the total pressing number.

Which one, the first or the second? I got the first for €14.98 and the Inside Out 2 4K steelbook for €17.99, but go off.
You really gotta broaden your horizons and stop looking only at Amazon.com only.
There are plenty of European steelbook sites announcing crazy price drops.
And if you know someone in Europe you can ship everything to, it’s even better
