Panasonic just released a 7" screen for the car.

I guess it depends on the application and how critically you plan on watching.

It depends on viewing distance. If you're 30 feet away you wouldn't enjoy a 20" screen. I'm approx 10 feet away from 120" and I enjoy it tremendously

I prefer Blu-rays on my 60" screen, but since I travel a lot and can't bring my TV with me, I "enjoy" Blu-rays on my 15.4" laptop screen (or larger, if the hotel has a TV with an HDMI port).

In my main viewing room, I would not want anything smaller than 50"

In the bedroom, I am leaning more towards 40" or bigger.

I currently have a 32" in the bedroom, which will soon become my son's tv...when I upgrade to a 40"+

I've got a 42" and it is plenty sufficient for watching Blu's. You really only need to go larger if you have a very big space to fill.

The minimum size for a Blu-ray screen should be 2,241 inches diagonal (180 feet wide by 50 feet high). Why should the Dallas Cowboys have all the fun?

http://www.engadget.com/2006/12/13/c...-of-video-scr/
Quote:
The Cowboys opted for a four-display setup, with the endzone-facing panels measuring in at 48 feet by 27 feet and the sideline-facing monoliths dwarfing all those which came before it at an incredible 180 feet wide by 50 feet high. That translates to exactly 9,000 square feet of video real estate per display, with a 2,241-inch diagonal. To put these monsters in perspective, the scoreboard at Dolphin Stadium and "Godzillatron" at Royal-Memorial Stadium only rock 6,850 square foot and 7,370 square foot areas, respectively; even the mighty HDTV recently installed at the Tokyo Racetrack can only boast a square footage of about 8,066.

Why give it to your son, put it in the bathroom so you can enjoy Blu while in the bath or on the toilet.

My 42 inches is plenty big enough for the room we watch in.

Just a side note that I heard..... and thought I'd share (not sure if it was in the article you linked....sorry)

Dallas' new stadium cost ONE BILLION, 150 Million! ( 1,150,000,000 )

Anyways.... The "Screen" costs 115 MILLION by itself..... while the previous stadium in it's entirety was build for 35 Million !!!!!!! The screen costs as much as 3 of their previous stadiums...... ...

All money well spent though.... just ask The New-York Football-Giants..... they enjoyed the new digs

And here's a quote regarding that awesome set of HD screens from the Columbia Spectator:

"There’s no need for a review booth in Jerry World—the refs will never need to go under the curtain to watch the play six times. They’ll just do what everyone else in the stadium does—look up at the Jerrytron and see the truth, brought to you in HD.

And yes, Tennessee’s punter hit the Jerrytron. What those who weren’t at the game couldn’t tell is that the Titans’ punter made it his goal to hit that screen the entire night. Every punt got a little closer, a little closer. The NFL mandates that no screen come down less than 85 feet above the field, and Jerry put his 90 feet above the field. But still, there’s no excuse, Jerry. For as much money as you and the city of Arlington spent, you maybe should’ve done a little more research and a few more calculations so this never would have happened."

And I included the last part not only because I heard about it on CNN yesterday but also because I'm from TN and this will probably be the only newsworthy thing the Titans will do this year! They totally SUCK!!
