Poor guy - Blu-ray Forum

While at Gamestop yesterday, an Air Force pilot walked in with a brand new 80g Ps3 and about 8 games. He said he used the system less than 5 times and has to sell it because he received orders to move back to Italy with the AF. Gamestop would give him $130 for EVERYTHING!!! I told him to keep it and give me his number. A friend offered $300 for it. I know that's still cheap, but he has to sell it.

I wish one of us could've helped him out because he leaves Monday.

Why not just take it with him? Or store it until he gets back? I have a few AF buddies (what with Ft. Campbell being so close and all) and from what I hear, Aviano is really nice.

Ah well... I guess he's doing what he has to do. It was cool of your friend to help him out like that.

my brother got kicked out of gamestop for doing that. Some guy was trading in a 60gb and they offered him some low number and my brother was like "I know someone that'll give you more than that."

He was kicked out and the dumb guy didn't even come see what the offer was. He just traded it in.

The problem with trading in systems to retail is that they have to put up with price drops and the more the price drops the less it's worth same goes for video games, or even if you go somewhere that lets you trade in movies, cds, and so on.

that's why I NEVER go to pawnshops and/or those types of places, because of that very thing.

I'll sell the stuff on Craigslist (no fees) first. Or sell it to someone I know (or someone my friends know.

that reminds me of 2 weeks ago when i went to a gamestop and they were selling Pokemon Ruby, Saphire, and Emerald for 45 dollars. Whats also sad is that this old woman that same day was getting ruby for her grandson and she paid the 45 + tax. I wanted to tell her she was overpaying, but i didnt want to risk getting kicked out.

Pokemon can sell no matter what the price tag says. Put a $200 price tag on a Pokemon game and people would still buy it

That really doesn't make sense to me why he would have to get rid of his PS3 because he's going to Italy. I've taken my PS3 to Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar, UK and even to Montana.

Possibly that since if he only used his PS3 like 5 times he probably doesn't even have the time to play on it and he probably figures if he gets deployed he will have even less time to play his PS3.

I saw the same thing when Madden was getting released, the guy said he was strapped for cash and wanted to trade in his 60(?) gb and they would only give him $40(!!!!!!!!!!!) for his PS3 because it had a minor scratch on it. My brain wasn't working at the time so I didn't make him an offer. I should have made one for $100... I want another Blu player. I really wouldn't care if I got kicked out because there's another gamestop on the other side of the mall!
