Default Bitstreaming to be implemented in Windows 7

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...8VS.85%29.aspx
This link will explain everything . Bitstreaming will be allowed by 3rd party programs (WinDVD, PDVD, TMT are all onboard now) through HDMI (HDMI pass-through). This is very good news. Oh and Intel is releasing a new bitstreaming motherboard - I wonder what Nvidia will do? Hmmmm? I can see the day that my PC may well be my preamp!!!!

Wow, this is very cool indeed. Yes, I'm afraid us old-schoolers will have to be dragged kicking and screaming, but I think computers will be replacing a lot of these other transports very soon. Where will my Foghat Live LP fit, though?? Even iTunes 9 has Blu-Ray support now (supposedly)...where will it end? To be serious, though, I use my computer for most music listening, now, it really is the way to go in my opinion.

Wow, now this is right up my alley, something I can relate to finally, the more that I read this article. I'm actually working on .NET COM stuff right now . My hobby is my work!! I can see myself hacking the Dolby True HD driver (KsMedia.h file):

wfext.FormatExt.Format.nSamplesPerSec = 705600;

and seeing little wisps of smoke rising from my Blu-Ray player
