Default Saints Row 2 confirmed

For both PS3 and 360 this time around.

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/09/24/sa...-ps3-xbox-360/

Quote:
According to THQ, the return to the open world of Stilwater will feature a number of improvements over the original, including both online co-op and competitive multiplayer gang banging, as well as a collection of new rides and customizable cribs, gangs, character gender, age, and voices. In addition, THQ marketing guru Scott Guthrie suggests that Saints Row 2's story is also getting a face lift, describing the narrative as "much darker and more sinister" than the first game.

Again... YAYYY. Played the first one on my friends 360. It was no San Andreas, but it was pretty fun.

I'd like to say that GTA IV will blow it away, but I'm not so terribly convinced this time around.

The new issue of GameInformer has a two page spread on Saints Row 2. It looks pretty sweet actually.

You can create your own main character. Male or female. Motorcycles, boats and helicopters are to be included with destructable environments. Some the additional side missions include shooting pedestrians in the crotch and car surfing.

Great news. It's nice to see some competition with GTA IV if Rockstar drops the ball.

Also takes away some ammo from the Xbots.

Guys just let me say it, Saints Row was a SWEEEET game. I am surely picking this title up on day 1. When I owned Saints for 360 I played in countless hours but its not no GTA. GTA IV is my most anticipated game and Saints Row 2 is not going to change that not one bit.

Since this game releases next week I wanted to see if anyone is excited for for it. It seems that there is a lot of customization options, and stuff to do, but I haven't played to first one so I'm not sure on the gameplay. Watching videos of gameplay from the leaked 360 version, it looks pretty cool, but I think I'll wait on the reviews first.

I played the first one and it was pretty good. Was basically a rip off of GTA. But I loved the older GTAs so why not love more of the same. I have a feeling this latest one should be great as well. It seems to stay true to the older GTA style like San Andreas. Unlike the latest GTA that was all about plot and less about the details (Like buying cribs, flying planes, etc). I think most people will like this more than the GTAIV as it seems like it will stay true to the old but still be "next gen".

Yeah. GTA IV just focused too much on realism while leaving out the fun. At least Saints Row had online built in before GTA (its online was the result of a mod). This better have trophies in it.

Trophy support was confirmed a while back, and trophies are unique to achievements in 360

I'm pretty sure trophies were confirmed already and will be there on release day. Unlike GTAIV which will need a patch and I think right now is pure rumor.

Nope, the trophies for GTA have been confirmed. Hopfully, that'll get me back into the action and finish where I left off.

Got my pre-order on play.com, says i can make a personalised sleeve by going to sum link they will send in an e-mail the week of release, see what sort of custom sleeve options will be available

On topic, i look forward to it, haven't played a good sandbox since GTA4, hope this satisfies even if it isn't as mightily good
