Looks gray market to me.

Check places like BizRate but best of all: Go to the manufacterer's website and look up "authorized web dealers" or whatever and see if there's a match.

If that isn't do-able, just send them a quick phone call or email and ask them. They'll tell you.

Always check before making a move.

That's what I usually do. I'm very cautious with purchases over the internet. I was just wondering if anyone ever heard of these people before or had any dealings with them.

These folks selling the Panny on eBay are legitimate, they're even listed on the Panasonic website:

6th Avenue Electronics.

Sorry if I was a little overexuberant, but I would like to see people go for this player and bypass the whole Samsung "is it the player or is it the disc, DNR on/off" debate.

I agree with you. I have already made up my mind that I will be getting the Panasonic. I'm just looking for a good deal at this point because I absolutely refuse to pay MSRP on that thing.

ABT has it for $1208 (7% off) and free shipping:

Not a huge savings, but definitely 4-5 Blu-Ray movies worth.

I can vouch for 6th ave...and have bought from them when they used to advertise in the back of stereo/video rags for a lot of years.

They are legit...but some things they sell can only be sold via the actual store.
