I would say American Me is closer to reality when it comes to the way Prison Gangs/Street Gangs really operate.

Edward James Olmos was actually receiving death threats from the Mexican Mafia after the shooting of this film...

However, some of the other films people might enjoy more. I think Outsiders was pretty good and had a great cast, which is interesting to watch to see where the came from. I also think Juice was pretty good and showed that Tupac actually was a good actor. I agree though with some posters that City of God is hands down the best "gang" film. I understand why you excluded it though since it was foreign and had a different feel than some of the films on this list.

I voted for American History X, btw.
U always add real talk to the thread so its respected! Pac was a monsta in Juice! he was one of the rare natural rapper turned actors imo!! Got Em!!

I definitely agree with you Czar...do you agree that he probably would have gotten some even more serious roles in which he could prove his acting talent if he stayed alive?

Awe man I think he would've gotten alot of work and good roles and could've been just as big as Will, although dont know if the mainstream would've accepted him as they have Will but talent wise just as good if not better in my opinion! What a shame we couldnt find out! Got Em!!

I don't know about a lot of acting, but he went to a performance high school. Actually, I think he went to the same school as Jada Pinkett-Smith.

Beat me to it. I was disappointed, but not surprised Fresh didn't make the list. It seems no one has heard of it. 'Tis a pity Boaz Yakin didn't give us more stuff like it.
