Default Actors/Actresses that cannot be replaced if their films were to be remade.

There are many great movies out there that are too classical and there's no possible way the original actors/actresses can be replaced.

For myself, the entire Rocky/Terminator franchise cannot be remade whatsoever because there will be no one to replace Stallone/Aaanold.

Its your turn. Which films, in your opinion, cannot be replaced by different actors/actresses.

Jack Nicholson in The Shining.

Don't care if the movie wasn't true to the book. Jack made the movie, along with Kubrick. Can't believe they tried to remake it.

Alien/Aliens/3/4 without Sigourney Weaver would be a travesty.

Default Every film with Clint Eastwood and Arnold Schwarzenegger

Except True Crime (1999) and The Running Man (1986 or 1987; I forget which one). These movies should never at anytime be remade anyway. I didn't care for these movies all that much, especially True Crime. Not Clint Eastwood's and Arnold Schwarzenegger's best (actually their worst) movies. However, The Running Man was quite a bit better than True Crime.

Some films with Sylvester Stallone (such as First Blood and Rocky) also cannot be remade with him being replaced.

Any of the Brat Pack movies as well as other's like The Goonies, Stand By Me, etc. As far as incredibly organic performances, the girl from The Fall and the kids in Let The Right One In.

I would have said Gregory Peck in The Omen, but it didn't stop them remaking it. Or Michael Caine in The Italian Job, but again they remade it. I don't think anything will ever stop them remaking a movie if they really want to.

Johnny Depp's portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies is iconic and irreplaceable in my mind.

I agree, although they didn't TRY to remake it, they DID and it turned out to be a P.O.S. This was proof that not all movies should stick with the books because sometimes some of the things in books don't translate well into film. Steven Webber as Jack Torrence? Give me a break, he needs to stick to comedy.

And in addition, some other Jack Nicholson performances that should never be remade are

One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest
Easy Rider
Chinatown
Prizzi's Honor
The Postman Always Rings Twice
The Departed
Mars Attacks

No one else can play Tony Montana like Al Pacino! So don't even try it.

Rocky/Rambo only work with Stallone

Forrest Gump can only be played by Tom Hanks IMO

Of course Scarface with Pacino is a remake itself (sort of)
