LG 60PS60 and THX... - Blu-ray Forum

So, I've seen some people dis this tele here and there on this forum, and I am aware of some of the issues LG has run into, especially with this model (picture death after a few weeks, dimming issues).

However, I want to see what the general consensus is. The set is THX certified (good or ignorable attribute?), and when it works properly it seems to get really good reviews on shopping sites.

I am interested because this TV is on my short list of TVs for my new man cave. I'll be posting a full "which to go with" thread soon, but until then...

Thoughts, comments, concerns on this particular set?

From everything I've read the THX mode is fairly accurate, but not to the degree as some other THX certified sets. Your best bet is to go and compare it with a Panasonic G10 and a V10 and whatever other THX certified sets you can find in the store. Just compare them in their respective THX modes and see what you think of their color accuracy.

I do know that the Panasonic's can be made more accurate in the custom mode than in their THX modes. I believe the THX mode is as accurate as it gets on the LG, but you may want to read up on that over on avsforum. There is an owner's thread over there you should check out.
