Default Did Yoyoniner post a Spidey date?

Did anyone catch the delted post Penton is referring to HERE

I love Amir's quote:

Back to this topic, all I can tell you that our superb quality in HD DVD releases has been noticed by BD companies.
He is definitely in full Corporate PR mode now. MS had nothing to do with HD-DVD releases other than producing a codec. Warner and Universal on the other hand...

Quote:
What they will do with that though, is something that I can not discuss, nor can you count on it until you see the final proof: real discs with VC-1.
Uhm...what do you call the current batch of Warner VC-1 discs, Amir?

Yeah, yoyoniner was talking about titles using VC-1 and being dual layered BD, as the argument as I read was that with VC-1 it negates the usefulness of BD-50. He returned that it wasn't true and that the first BD-50 with VC-1 would be Superman Returns. Or at least that was my impression of what he was talking about.

That said, I'm not sure why it would be a surprise. We knew SR was going to be BD-50 and we know that Warner uses VC-1 on BD now. So it was obvious that it would be and be better for it since it would all be on one disc as opposed to two discs like HD DVD would have to be.

If he was referring to Spidey in some way, I must have missed it completely.

Chris,

I guess I was referring to Penton's comment about Raimi and Spider-man 3. Spider-man is a Sony title and the topic was Sony and VC-1. I know Superman will be VC-1 and BD50. Spider-man would be cool as well. Spider-man 2 for me.

I saw the reaction post, but nothing much before that. I doubt a Spidey date was leaked, but possibly could that be tied in with the rumored VC-1 announcement? Who knows.

It looks to me that Spiderman 2 or maybe even 3 will come on on BD as a BD-50/VC-1 release... I can't wait for 2007!
