See for me the franchise died after T2 but the Sarah Connor Chronicles could be interesting http://link.brightcove.com/services/...bctid909886933

Well, you're literally correct:
CarolCo Pictures, who gave us all that Ahnuld goodness, went bankrupt in '96, (cause of death due to a terminal case of "Cutthroat Island", with lingering complications of "Showgirls").

Indie producers bought out the rights to CarolCo's going-out-of-business sale and formed C2 Pictures, whose entire output was to produce crappy name-only sequels to title properties that they owned:
T3 fooled some people into the theater, but maybe you remember their other great Carolco Cameron/Verhoeven-title followup...."Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction"?

...Short story, scratch C2 Pictures.
Looks like the Terminator name went up for sale again--New owners "Halcyon Pictures" (who inherited the Chronicles in the will), and "T Asset Acquisition Company". Well, at least they're honest about it.

personaly, bit tired of the go back in time theme. that kind of ended with 3 when you realise no matter what they tried to stop, skynet still goes beserk.

Would be great to see the new films all set in the future, that way its the same concept with an all new theme, would not be so bad missing Arnie boy.

This film cannot be called The Terminator without the Terminator. You cannot make another Terminator and Predator (if any are planned) film without Arnold.

so what was predator 2?
maybe he should do a cameo, but you see how old and out of shape he is. nobody thought he would be able to get back in shape to do a third movie and now you want him in a forth movie.
I think someone else playing the terminator will not be so bad as long as they can make it convincing, not much talking involved. But then again arnies acting is pretty ridged like a robot anyway so it might be hard to beat.
oh I have both on Blu and I do like the films just in case you wonder

I personally think that the series ended with T2. T3 was just trying to milk more money out of the Terminator franchise. This is James Cameron's baby and T3 was a bastard child that should never have been made (though I will admit it was, on its own, somewhat enjoyable).

When both chips were destroyed at the end of T2, that's where Cameron wanted it to end and should have ended. The idea in T3 that the big, bad corporation had already secretly copied the technology and that the future war was inevitable because it was our fate was a bit of a stretch. I mean they spent all of T2 teaching John Connor that the future is not set and that there's no fate but what we make for ourselves. The idea that that is all B.S. is sac-relig.

Anyway, my two cents.

...
Why don't they get Arnie to mo-cap a CGI version of himself, made to look 20 years younger?

I would have liked to see another kid playing John Connor in Terminator 2. The kid was a smarty pants, who cares if the T1000 killed him. I didn't. The original movie is the best to me. However T3 can stand on its own without the first 2 movies... I thought it was pretty decent. But we all want to see the future not present day stuff.... Jim Cameron missed the boat to me and should have gone straight to the Terminator Wars... with an army of Arnolds that would be sweet..... the future cannot be changed like we saw in T3.... If it's going to be The Terminator Wars Trilogy I'm there man.... Would be cool....

T2 and T3 were T1 remakes with better effects. Useless storylines. T1 was unbeatable, just raw grit.

I hear ya. Was thinking the same thing. IF a 4th one is going to be released, it has to follow the last one plot wise and finally shows us the machine war in the future. That's what I am really looking forward to.

And of course hopefully John Connor will be played by someone other than Nick Stahl. Not a knock against him in general, but I don't think he was very believable as the supposed leader of the future resistance against the machines.

Leaving aside the obvious point that the new carpetbagger owners of the right to make a film with "Terminator" in the title wanted to play with their new toy...
They also happened to be fanboys who, like most core fan-geeks, were "disappointed" that the War wasn't going to happen after #2, and they weren't going to get armies of cool SFX robots and humans shooting each other that they'd waited years to see.

With the new non-Cameron owners basically killing off Sarah, laughing har-har at "No fate", and locking John in a basement while the new characters go off on their busy agenda to start the war, the entire movie looked like James Cameron was being spanked and sent to his room by the war-hungry geek-fans--
"Now you just march yourself off to your blast shelter without supper, young man, and let's hear no more of this happy-ending 'Senator John Connor' nonsense!"

T3 sucked ass. I am sorry.

Unless they can somehow make it better - I doubt any future versions of T will be worth watching, let alone buying. Besides, I would not buy the trilogy/series because T3 is a dud. Just would be stupid.

Can you smell what the Rock is cooking?

I'm not interested in T4 at all (unless it's all robot wars post-apocalypse stuff). T3 was so-so if you really tried to get into it and remember how much you loved T2.

Maybe in T4 T1 - T3 could all be a dream and we'll start over with Jerry Seinfeld in Arnold's old role.

Actually The Rock would make a great terminator, if they decide not use Arnold. But he has to be serious, and he has to act tough; he usually acts like a comedian in his films. T4, Arnold or the Rock, either would do.

Lets pray to all that is holy that nobody that's making the movie saw your post. The Rock as a terminator?

That's like Disney making a p0rn movie.
