Want Amityville Horror Reviews - Blu-ray Forum

I have The Amityville Horror on DVD, and probably have watched the DVD half a dozen times, seen it on VHS a lot, and even a few times on videodisc.

Not sure if this is one DVD I need to upgrade. Not something I watch a lot and not sure if the difference is great enough. If it is only marginally better or much better is important to my decision.

Would like to hear reviews on AQ and PQ, and also how much better is it than the DVD release. Slight upgrade, or significant?

The scores are a bit harsh. The disc looks fine, and detail is strong. It's definitely waaay better than the old DVD. Plus it's dirt cheap.

It looks very good and Margot Kidder was kind of hot back in the late 70's

Do not expect a stellar looking movie. The picture quality is decent given the original film, but not what anyone would confuse as better than average.

the Amityville horror on blu ray is bare bones with no extras...as opposed to the few features you get on your regular DVD edition.
