Yes, I'm way behind and just realized TrueHD was a blasted option with DK.
So...set it for TrueHD and re-watched this flick. W H O A ! My subwoofer got a serious workout. The sound on this flick is mindblowing...and it feels like you're on Batman's motorcycle during the scene where he's rolling through midtown GC. |

Hi jc480,
I agree with you that The Dark Knight has an incredible lossless audio track. I probably do not have to tell you, but when you load you BDs, make sure to double check the audio setting. Some BDs default to the 5.1 DD soundtrack, even if the disc includes a True HD or DTS Master Audio track as well. Always select the lossless track for superior sound. My subwoofer turns into the Incredible Hulk whenever lossless audio is pumped to it...and I turn into a quivering puppy. |

Warner Bros made two significant blunders with their implementation of BD.
1. Their early discs did not default to the lossless soundtrack 2. Their discs do not default to a menu I guarantee that 99% of the general public simply pop discs like The Dark Knight into their players and let it run, not even knowing that they're not listening to the Dolby TrueHD track. Thankfully the discs now do default to the best track, But it still annoys me that you can't make any other adjustments from a proper menu, prior to starting the movie. |

To be honest, i've been checking audio settings on disks for years, mainly because DD5.1 was the default (and had to be) on DVD's, however a lot of disks came with the (IMHO) superior DTS track.
Nothing changed with the switch to BD, always check settings before starting a film. |

It is when you want to set your audio or subtitle options or if you are throwing on a disc to watch or listen to an extra feature and not the movie itself

Annoying yes but Warner isn't much on brains except for when they backed up Blu-ray towards the end of the format war. |

First time I watched TDK I didn't check the audio, and listened to it in DD 5.1, when I rewatched it with the TrueHD it was night and day, the sound is so much more open and precise.
The other is Transformers, not the best movie but the audio track is mind blowing. |

If you want to change your audio, press the 'pause' button. For extra features there's the 'special features' menu. It's not rocket science.
