France French Steelbooks, FNAC sale

FNAC right now has a sale, 4 blus for 50 euros, and you can find at least 8 steels in there. Without VAT they come out at 10.25 euros each, shipping is similar to Amazon.fr. Worth a look, I just ordered 8

thanks for the heads up, can I ask you to list which ones you ordered? I'm finding it hard to maneuver around in thier site. also have you purchased from FNAC before, you say they are like amazon but just concerned on how they package and shipping, if i will get charged duty etc when they arrive? It may have been mentioned before in a thread but cant remember.thanks

You do get hit by duties because they use Chronopost to ship which end's up being Puro or something here, don't know for the US. They ship extremely fast, less than a week. What I ordered

Aventures de Rabbi Jacob
Aviator
Crank
Dark Knight
Femmes de l' Ombre (Females agents)
Match Point
T2
Ushuaia

Total 111.80 euros, just about $172.50 cdn. so $21.57 cdn. each. Add maybe $25 custom fees and it's still very cheap. Used them 3 times before and never had a problem.

Be careful, Dark Knight is OOP as a Steelbook and they're selling it with a standard Amaray case now...

Good luck receiving SteelBooks.

Most of them have turned into amarays in store, I'd just be careful when ordering off FNAC's website.

FNAC marks as gift whenever I ordered, 3 day delivery and no brokerage fees, way better than UPS

Word of warning: I got Scoop in an amazon.fr sale a while ago and while it was a steelbook and region free, I found that the English language soundtrack has forced French subtitles.

Phil

I am thinking of getting the following Steelbooks, plus a few other non-SB blu-ray:
Le Royaume interdit
Scoop
Match Point

Any idea if these are still being shipped as Steelbooks??

Yeah, I bought Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill 1 & 2 and Match Point previously in the Amazon.fr sale. The forced French sub titles don't bother me, I'd good at tuning them out.

http://www.fnac.com/help/A06-15.asp?NID=-11&RNID=-11

US & Canada: 15 € per order + 1,85 € per article, Chronopost from France, then FedEx delivery in the US (not sure about Canada).

Rest of the World (outside Europe): 20 € per order + 1,85 € per article, Chronopost from France, then delivery by local courier service.

Thanks, very similar delivery rate to Amazon.FR

Beware, T2 is not a steelbook anymore when ordered from FNAC. I received a standard plastic case last week.

Would certainly like to know if the following releases are still in Steelbook format or not:
Match
Scoop
Forbidden Kingdom
Dead or Alive
Immortel

Come to think of it, it is probably safer to email their customer service to verify packaging. Anyone knows the email address of their customer service??

Hey mate, sorry for not replying earlier.

Like I said, it all depends on the store. I wouldn't be able to tell you if Fnac.com shipped as Steels. From what I remember in store, none of these had been Amaray-ed yet.

Wow, is FNAC shipping fast! Ordered on Sunday, delivered Wed. morning by FedEx (in Arizona)! Much faster than Amazon.fr Expedited, which I thought was pretty good.

Ok, of the 4 I was expecting to be steelbooks:
Les Aventures de Rabbi Jacob
Les Femmes de l'ombre
Scoop (Woody Allen)

are steelbooks, and no dings or dents. T2 came in a standard plastic case, though.
