It depends upon what you want in a TV?

There is no simple answer.

I personally feel the best TV would be the Panasonic 65" V10 series!!

Get the Pioneer Elite Kuro, you won't regret it. I don't have one but I've seen a calibrated model at Best Buy hooked up to a blu-ray player. The picture and sound blows away all the models by a mile.

I agree with the guy who said Pioneer Elite Kuro. If you're looking for the absolute best PQ you can get, the 60 inch model is the way to go.

Shoot with 5K you can get a Kuro KRP 600m and have 2K left over. Or a Kuro 151 Elite and have 1K left over. or the 141 Kuro Elite if your lucky, but spend it all though. You will be in heaven my friend. Next best thing would of course be the Panny 65" V10 (im thinking about getting one). I have had the 7 & 8 series 65" panasonic & it just sick having a 65" flat panel!

For TV's I would suggest the 65" V10 or a 60" Kuro either the Elite or 600M.

However, for that budget you could get a projector and screen. You could get a Panasonic AE-4000U and an enormous fixed frame Anamorphic Screen with room under your budget for some movies. Or you could go for a Sony HW15 or JVC RS15 with the projector screen of your choice.

Mine.

It wouldn't be a hot deal but if you bought my set for 5K it would be pretty sweet!

Let me know.

Well if the OP is willing to give me his left over cash, I will do that, could always use an extra BDP.

Seriously, I dont have the funds to get a new TV at the moment, that is why I was busting his chops about sending me his remaining funds...

Ditto..... then I could get a new TV, TV stand, Sub and a Receiver and still have about $2500 left over. Now what to buy the OP for appreciation and my Wife who has to deal with me daily... HMM.

What about the Samsung LN55A950, I'm sure you could get it for around 3k now and it's a great LCD local dimming set.
