Default So is that it?

I was kind of expecting (hoping?) that we would have heard about some major upcoming releases that would be out in time for the Christmas shopping season. So what do you all think? Any chance of any last minute announcements or is what has been announced pretty much all we have to look forward to for the rest of the year?

The studios are well into announcing January (some February) now. This is it for the rest of the year.

I highly doubt that. We still have 2 months and a week until the year is over. I'm sure we'll get a few surprise announcements for Decembers releases.

I guess that would depend on what your "it" is. If your "it" is Galaxy Quest, then congradulations. But if your "it" is the Star Wars saga, then you may be waiting a while.

I'm looking forward to what gets announced for second quarter of 2010 and beyond....hopefully we'll get some of the great titles we've been waiting for. With all the new BD players that will be in more homes after this holiday season more and better titles should be on the horizon.

Of course I would love an Indy or Star Wars or Alien or LotR surprise, but I knew those weren't going to happen. I was hoping some of the other rumors from a few months ago would still pan out. Moulin Rouge for one.

Working for a movie rental store, studio's always change release dates all the way up to around the 18-20 of December, so I wouldnt be surprised if some studio's tossed out a movie to bring in a few more holiday dollars!

I'm also disappointed because I was looking for more catalog releases. I was hoping to see more movies announced from Universal at least with all the movies they could have just re-released on Blu-ray from their HD DVD catalog.

It's good though with all the new releases coming out with The Taking Of Pelham 123, Star Trek, Terminator Salvation, and District 9, plus all the catalog titles that are out now that I still don't have. I was still looking forward to having Bad Boys, Scarface, Jurassic Park, Dante's Peak, etc because the majority of my old movies are in VHS. I have 80 vhs movies compared to 9 DVD's and find no reason to waste money on those movies now for the DVD version. So I'll just wait for the Blu-ray release.

Well we were told this was the year the "floodgates were gonna open up" and we were SUPPOSED to get LOTR trilogy, Indiana Jones Trilogy, Alien quadrilogy, but we got nada when it came down to it. Let's hope next year is the year.

Holiday releases have already been slated and announced by this point. It's highly unlikely that there are going to be any big surprise announcements, considering the holidays kick off in about 6 weeks.

Most titles are announced or at least tipped off to retail a minimum of 2 months in advance. Anything announced from this point out will be for Q1 2010 and beyond.

I know a lot of people didn't like it but I did. I've been a Terminator fan since I was a kid and I was glad to see a Terminator movie take place after Judgment Day. Sure this movie wasn't an actual war movie like we saw in the opening scene on T2, but it didn't bother me while I watched it at the movies. Overall I was pleased with this movie.

Only disappointment I have is with the Director's cut not really containing many deleted scenes. Maybe more will be included in the maximum movie mode. Not sure how that works since I never saw Watchmen.
