I don't believe it has been confirmed, but I would be surprised if it wasn't as the same studio holds the rights in both the US and UK.

Most probably the same transfer but different encode. Please check AVS for the BDInfo.

No, Paramount has the rights to Braveheart in the US and Canada. Fox has the rights in the UK, Australia, Europe, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

Extra features info and basic artwork. No word about A/V specs.

Thumbs up

Braveheart on blu looks and sounds incredible! Wouldn't have thought that it came out 14 years ago.

The USA edition does have burned in subtitles by the French spoken parts, right?
(to be exact; I mean subs that were encoded within the videostream)

And now comes the big suprise...
The European Fox version doesn't!
Which is a nice thing for me, because I watch the movie with Dutch subtitles.

It means because the codec is different there will be negligible differences in PQ.

But to say one is better than the other would be silly. The source material was outstanding, therefore pretty much any decent codec would be good enough.

This is from the FOX RELEASE

when the time-mark says 0:20:07 in the movie - we see a picture of a city and the FONTS says EDINBURG (spelling?) the AVC picture is on 17,7 - 18,0 Mpbs

I very much doubt it is the same transfer as the US release.

The Fox release is a bit de-grained in comparison to the Paramount release which shows a bit more film grain thus resolving high frequency details a bit better.
