I've got the region B special edition (which is region free by the way), it was good, but a little bit slow for my taste, and i do like these kind of flicks, such as warlords, but it has tony leung and kaneshiro!

Be warned.
The movie is a cluster-**** for anyone who isn't an expert on the history.
Hard to cram a hundred of history into a 5 hr movie (could be worse in the 2.5hr US version).

Though for 9P from amazon.co.uk, it's definitely worth the purchase now.

You can import, right now a complete version for less than 18$ (with shipping to North America), from UK (zone free) with 2 Bluray and DTS HD sound...

This is an excellent buy...got this about 2 weeks ago...both movies on two separate disc in the same package...really worth the $20.00US price..

I saw the US theater version, and while entertaining it felt incomplete with a somewhat abrupt ending.

Get the UK version. Magnolia has not been that great of a distributor on Blu-ray, and the UK version is very reasonably priced with a great transfer and sound.

+1 for the UK version. Own it and love it! Cost me about $23 CAN after shipping. Cannot beat that. Plays on our Region 1 players too.

Will wait and see how the US international edition turns out before making s final decision on which one to get. Didn't even know the US theatrical run had come (and gone?).

I saw this theatrical version of this movie on HDNet Movies last month. I believe the original version of the film is 4 hours long.

It's nearly 5 hours of epic filmmaking.

Yikes! Needless to say, some things were left out of US version. I'd like to see the unabridged version if I could find the time.

I wouldn't be able to stand it if the original 5hr movie gets chopped up to reduce run time...I'd rather go with the import like some have mentioned...Both for under $20 sounds like a good deal to me...

don't waste your time with this butchered .
they cut out half the friggin' movie.
get the FULL version from HK or don't get it at all imo.
a disgrace that the US had to cut the movie so extensively for its release in the theater.
it becomes almost impossible to follow due to losing half the movie.
so even though you get "two" versions neither one is what anyone would want to see imo.
don't know if Magnolia had the option to release the "real" movie, but this release is a joke.
