Default Any ideas on how to help stop fan rattle from bass?

Since I moved my theater room into the living room now I am having problems on deep bass scenes causing the ceiling fan to rattle and it's really annoying and distracting. Anybody got any ideas on how to help this?

You probably could just turn down your subwoofer either via your receiver or the subwoofer itself....other than that....I don't think getting rid of your ceiling fans is an option

A Sudude from Auralex might help.. Unless you're already using one or something similar. For me it helped with some rattling with mirrors and the liquor cabinet upstairs.

Thanks! I had never heard of those before. They look like they may just do the trick. Read alot of reviews on AVS and people love them.

Check the DIY Subwoofer Risers thread. There is information about subdude, Gramma, Great Gramma, and other subwoofer risers, including DIY risers.

thanks, appreciate it. Looks like I might be making my own. I thought the $45 was on the expensive side anyways.

do the blades of the ceiling rattle or the base where the blades connect to???

easy solution either way.........
tighten up every screw inside the base (take off the cover) and tighten up each screw that connects the blades to the fan

99.9% sure that will solve your problem

and let me know when you wanna play some madden 10......focker

edit: post some pics of your HT setup
