Question Would you repurchase EVERY movie in Blu-ray?

Would you repurchase EVERY movie in blu-ray?

Looking at your current collection, how much do you really want to replace dvd?

I'll let the polls speak for themselves.

As for me personally, I have DVD titles I would rather not replace, and just move on to better blu-ray titles. But I have a solid core of movies I greatly desire to replace.

I'm going to go with MOST. Before I ctarted getting my hands on the format, I would have only said SOME. But know that I have and love a good amount, I would LOVE to replace a lot more.

You forgot to add a poll.

I would replace every movie that I intend to watch again, the ones that are just gathering dust I would dipose of (on eBay or in the bin if they'e not worth 99p no reserve).

But I would of course wait until the format war is over and I wouldn't sell a DVD I intend to watch again until there actually IS a Blu-ray version. It'll be quite some time before the complete library is available. Hardly any of my favourite DVDs have been Blu-ified, even the recent ones.

I will only replace a few key ones that are favorites with good visuals that will benefit a lot from the upgrade.

DVD's look pretty good upconverted by my blu-ray deck. Just a touch of soft-focus for that old-timey movie look.

I'm just going to replace my all time favorites and movies with huge special effects or big action sequences. After that I'll just look to buying all new movies on Blu-ray.

I would only replace movies in my collection that I would watch more than once. There are some movies in my DVD collection that I have owned for years and probably watched once. I would rather save my money for other things than to spend it on movies that will collect dust again.

I have 5700 legitimate dvds(not dvdr), there is no way, especially looking at the retail vs what I could sell them for right now. I will just watch them upverted.

I feel the same way, but after seeing a couple of repurchased movies on blu-ray, I feel the replay value is much higher now. 2nd rate choices are quickly climbing the re-watch list because of blu-ray.

I went with Some. I only plan to replace my favorites or if there is a sale. I have been replacing some of movies that I only have on LD with the BD version. The three Die Hard movies plus the new one will be next.

I went with most. Some DVDs I wouldn't buy again if I had the chance (regardless of price) so I won't get those on Blu-ray. But I'd repurchase essentially all of the movies I enjoy (prob 80-90% of my collection) if I can.

I will most likely only replace a few select favorite movies for right now.

1500 titles??? Waddia think, I've got dollar bills falling outa my arse??? The official answer is, no frickin' way. I have 72 BD's and I only buy what I REALLY want now. I'll get some old favorites when and if released but many of my titles, are just not watched that frequently or certainly not frequently enough that I care or not as to whether they're on Blu-Ray.

Love Blu-Ray but I only go so far!

Besides... by the time BLU-Ray has replaced most SD DVD's there'll be a new HD format and Blu-Rays will end up being worth as much as regular DVD's do now. I think I've had more than enough of that crap. VHS to Laserdisc to DVD to Blu' to... enough already.

Collecting movies is not an investment... never was, never will be. It's more of a hobby and we all know what hobbies are worth in the end.

I'm going with some, because there are some that will not see the light of day again. Most of the ones I'm replacing are those that come out and I think, "Oh yeah, I really liked that one. I think I'll buy it again."

I'll probably replace all of my animated titles. Replacing everything I have is just not doable for me, though I wish I could. So far, 7 out of the 27 BDs I have are films that I already own on DVD.
