Default HD DVD Logo was blue before...?!

Hey,

Just found this pic...

Anybody noticed that on the IFA 2006

or was it only a prototype blue print...?

I don’t think the DVD Forum specifies the color of the logo.

The blue logo is part of their new ad campaign. "HD DVD it is just like Blu-ray, except spelt differently - and not as good."

those sleeze balls over at toshiba, ms, and paramount would make it a light blu color just to confuse consumers even more in efforts to pick up an extra 10 sales.

It's a stupid marketing tactic. Anyone confusing the names is not going to decide which is better based on color. In politics, they call this "muddy the waters". Good luck with that.

C'mon, suppose they went with a highly polished gold or chrome? Does that make it better? I'll look twice at a sweet logo, but not buy based on it.

im not saying people confused with names are going to choose based on color. im saying that confused people are going to look at this and think, "oh this is blu-ray i think ill pick it up" (based on the color of the logo) and then they got crappy hd dvd on accident. throughout this ENTIRE war hd dvd has been red, we've been blu, its made things a little easier for j6p and this marketing tactic just makes it hard for j6p to get his facts straight on which one is which, its sheer, pathetic, desperation on the hd dvd camp. may this war last longer than hoped only for the sheer fact that they lose billions trying to promote and confuse the masses with their half assed product only to never sell even a million players worldwide.

Well, when they buy blu-ray movies and stick it in that child of the damned, they will understand the reason for return receipts.

I can see confusing HD-DVD with HD-BLU, but not two completely different names. I've worked retail, I have seen some convuluted thought processes, but that one is a little far fetched if you ask my "professional" opinion.

They were probably doing market research that led them to believe the red color was making their customers angry. Then they realized it wasn't the color it was the inferior product its-self.

HA! Nice.

Actually, market research shows that red is probably the most recognized color for selling. Blues are used to show cool colors, like selling vanilla ice cream bars. Sitting in from of me now is a Lexmark ink box and it is red and white.

If anything, red would get them more notice. But people generally like the asthetics of blu better. Color will not save them, in any case.

Yes it did. I DO pay attention to emotes. Which reminds me, we need a better selection. Not enough range of emotion here. Yahoo messenger has ROCKIN' emotes.
