Waffles are great, and multi-purpose. I love maple syrup, and waffles have all those little built-in buckets to hold it. But Belgian waffles are great too (not to mention waffle cones).
French toast is also pretty good, but can be hit or miss depending on the bread and batter used. Pancakes are disgusting. Fresh off the griddle they are slightly tolerable despite tasting like mush, but once they're cooled off and soggy, they're gross. Crepes are great, but, as far as I'm concerned, they're a dessert. I like mine with melted chocolate inside, and/or powdered sugar on the outside. Edit: Oh, and like JJ said, the maple syrup has to be real. It can't be that HFCS/sugar, artificially flavored crap that they sell in humanoid bottles. I'm talking real maple syrup, where they basically stab a maple tree, and hold a bucket up to it, and then concentrate that sap down into the syrup I eat (for reference, I think it takes anywhere from 20-40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup, depending on how much water/little sugar is in the sap). I could drink it straight from a bottle, but it's so expensive. Last edited by toef; 11-08-2009 at 06:57 AM. |

Crepes for me by a longshot. I make my own and their wicked! They are paper thin. I spread some butter with a little maple syrop (The REAL kind) and repeat until I have a stack of about 5........heaven!
