Sometimes I do, if the stories continue. Like LOTR — I only liked The Two Towers. But you can't really just put in part 2 and watch it withouth having a beginnong or ending. Same with Star Wars. If the stories don't continue, then yeah, I'll only get the ones I like. But in some cases, like the Star Trek box sets, sometimes it's cheaper to just buy them all.

I got Prisoner of Azkaban even though I didn't like it because it was 2 for 15 with Goblet of Fire which was my favorite of the series and I wanted all of them. That's how I justified it anyway. Nothing will get me to pick up the crap that was Half blood prince though. We live and learn I guess.

I think for the most part I don't especially if I don't like the last of the movie's in a set. For instance, I love the Terminator series and up until Salvation, I have the first 2 blus but I really don't care for T3 so I didn't get that blu. If it is something in the middle that I'm just so so about, I will probably find the right price and possibly buy. Aliens is another blu series that I dislike the last one so I won't buy that when they are released next year...unless I'm forced into all of them like the Bourne set, but then again I kind of like all of those.

Just saw the above post here after I replied. I don't think you know which movie is which. I hate arguing about movies that are better and worse because it really is opinion but I think I have to change my policy for this. Aliens is not only the best of the quad set but one of the definitive action/sci fi movies of all time. Surely you aren't talking about the James Cameron directed classic from 1986. If you indeed are, you really need to explain yourself movie by movie, because I don't think I've ever heard anyone say anything bad about that movie in my entire life. A classic of a few different genres. And, since you mentioned it was good, I will say that IMO, Resurrection is one of the worst sci fi movies I have ever seen. A sore on the Alien anthology. I would love to hear your perspective.

I notice some people have to own every single Criterion Blu-ray just because it's Criterion!

Nope. I'll never watch the movie(s) I don't like and odds are I'll never sell the movies I do like, so what's the point? That's why I'm waiting on Spiderman and The Lord of the Rings, rather than going out and buying the sets. I really want the movies I do like, but I only like one movie from each series.
