Default Star Wars... not what you think :)

i ran across this video on youtube.com, its obviously a fake, but the real interesting part is at 2:59, there is a shot that never made it into episode 3 that is in this video. leaked footage of a possible blu-ray release...doubtful, cool and something i thought star wars fans might enjoy....definately. http://youtube.com/watch?v=zEj3Lfb8E...elated&search=

Do you have a link to this? A guy at work heard a rumor of all the movies coming out on BD for about $120-130 for all the movies and the extras on a seperate disc.

This is not what I need today, two RUMORS about this stuff. *bangs head against wall*<--since I've started reading on Blu-ray.com, I have a hole in that wall.

Someone stated in an earlier posting that they had seen this in a PROMO for BD.

If you look at the comments the guy admits it being a fake. Besides this is on Fox so it would be a Blu exclusive, and he said both formats.

just to be honest guys, i did hear a rumor on the internet a very long time ago, before episode 3 got released that their was this thing called blu-ray (no clue what it was) and that the full obi-wan/vader lightsaber duel would be on it, so out of all 6 movies shown i find it very coincidental that the never seen footage is from this duel. the duel in the movie was too short, seriously if i was GL i would have done 30 min. non-stop obi-wan/vader dueling. but seriously doubt this has anything to do with BD so don't get excited.

Hate to be kill joy, but that is fan made (Lucasfilms would never release a trailer this poorly edited). That shot referred to at 2:59? I've seen it before...actually, I even used it in one of my own fan made trailers before the movie was released in theaters.

i don't think its really evidence of a bd release at all, so your not being a killjoy, where is this clip from, where did you first see it and why wasn't it in deleted scenes?

Not a kill joy at all...if you read darkpoet's comment, the guy who made it said that it was fake. And like you said, it didn't look too good on the screen.

Very poorly edited? That was crap. The titles were even poorly done.

well its youtube so its not going to look good even if it was a 1080p version. i said in the original comment it probably was a fake, just thought it was a cool shot of that awesome duel (ob1 vs. maul is still better IMO), however II and III should both look absoulutely brilliant as they were digitally shot.

I think some very talented person created it by using the behind the scenes footage found on disc 4 of the original trilogy boxset (it featured lots of greenscreened dual footage). That person simply keyed the footage over lava footage he created or borrowed from somewhere else.

okay i can see that now, never would have guess that as that would have just taken so much work. anyways there are pieces of this lightsaber duel that have not yet been seen. if you watch the movie closely you'll realize that vader and obi-wan switch lightsabers during a cutscene. i do wish vader got pwned in a different way too.

I think if there was anything in the wind about a SW BD release, a place like the digital bits would have that info...

...don't forget how long it took this franchise to come to regular dvd. I think we have a while yet.

I was told by my Fox rep that Star Wars was originally going to come out this 4th qtr but was delayed till next year (presumed to be 4th qtr 2008). When I asked why he was kind of vague but it could have been the same issue Fox had when they stopped making BR releases for that short while. Maybe waiting for the new software to protect their movies from being copied?

Sorry it's not about BD, but at CEATEC Dolby is demonstrating its "Dolby 3D Digital Cinema" including a short clip of 3D Star Wars! I must visit their booth to watch this...

There is a rumor of spring of '09, but an article on theforce.net said that Lucasfilm "no definitive date."
