Default Sound on Wal-Mart version of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen?

I got the Wal-Mart version of Tranformers 2, because I totally wanted the shifting aspect ratios (liked it on The Dark Knight). I heard (no pun intended) the the sound is not as powerful as the regular version. Is it that big a deal? I just wanted to know before I opened my set. Thanks in advance.

the sound is powerful alright, most folks complaint the human voice is so low, you have to crank up the system to hear ... may be this wm version definitely has issues with the soundtrack

The audio is identical.

However there is a Dialnorm flag that reduces the volume by 4db.

Turning your receiver up a little will compensate perfectly.

Only exception is that if you have dynamic EQ on your receiver it will EQ it as though its being played 4db quieter.

Hang on arent there multiple threads on this already????

Thanks. I'll just boost the volume. Worth it to get the disc with ratio shifts I want.

Possibly, but I couldn't find anything that answered my question. Sorry if you can. I always have a hard time looking through the forum. I'm just grateful for an answer: Keep the set.

Most of the multiple threads were moved into the TF2 Megathread.
But otherwise, yes, this has been brought up several times. Just turn your receiver up by additional 4db than you normally do.

It's a Wal-Mart exclusive, so I would just go buy it there. It's worth it, and it'll be cheaper than if Best Buy had it anyways. I bought mine for $16.88 the day it came out, can't beat that!

I kind of like the first movie but I've tried to watch this new one twice and had to shut it down mid-way because I was falling asleep.

I guess I don't have it cranked up enough.

Yes, Wal-Mart (grumble). Only paid $21 for it.

Do you think the extra IMAX picture could be the reason we need to turn the volume up?

(or we can end the thread here. Again, sorry, just wanted a quick answer)

Nope. Got nothing to do with IMAX, everything to do with DialNorm. What's DialNorm, you ask??? Read this:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...tanding+dialog

Ok...NOW we can end the thread.
