When I place a region 2 PAL DVD into a region 1 standalone BLU-RAY player the BLU-RAY player correctly informs me that the DVD cannot be played since it is the wrong region. When I place the same region 2 PAL DVD into my computers DVD-ROM drive or BLU-RAY drive Cyberlink PowerDVD 9 informs me that the DVD is the wrong region. When I use TotalMedia Theater version 2 it plays the region 2 PAL DVD on my computer just fine. TotalMedia Theater version 2 is region free for DVD playback only. I did not realize TotalMedia Theater would play region 2 DVD's in a optical drive set for region 1.
