97 films are 7.1 and 1080p according to blu-ray stats.

Is kinda sad that most not so popular film get 7.1 kinda rare to see new popular film release in 7.1 Studio need to get their act together, while we had all those 7.1 receiver or even the height speaker, yet studio isn't even close to make sound for those set up, speaker, receiver company need to get the act together to work with studio are provide the best sound for their pricey equipment. They should learn from ps3, which many game support 7.1 and definite a impact.

Movies are normally mixed in 5.1 sound for theaters. Even when Surround EX/Extended Surround came out, you didn't see a rush of films making use of the back speakers. Same goes for 7.1 (except that theaters aren't even set up for 7.1).

Personally, I want them to leave films in 5.1 sound alone for the most part. I don't want them pointlessly upmixing them to 7.1. If people want 7.1, they can use Pro-logic IIx.
