Default Mods are Inconsistent...

there was a time when everything HD DVD related was allowed in the General Discussion forum as highlighted by the forum description. Then magically, the HD DVD threads started appearing in OFF TOPIC discussion and HD DVD was removed from the General Discussion description. and now low and behold, some HD DVD posts have been allowed in the General Discussion forum. All I'm asking for is some communication between yourselves and some consistency...Its hard to know whats okay to post and whats not...and where?

I think initially it was allowed because, quite frankly the site was just trying to get going, and it was new and there was alot of this and that back and forth to talk about. Eventually it evolved into troll fodder with HDDVD fanboys, and even a mod at the time turning this into a pseudo neutral site.
It caused backlash with people who were here for Blu-ray, and it became a chore to sift through it all, so it was changed. I think it was changed for good reason, and applaud the decision. IMHO, the staff here at Blu-ray.com do a good job of giving us what we want and evolving with the ever changing needs of the site. I spend plenty of time here at the site, almost too much, And I can't say that I see a whole heck of a lot of HDDVD talk, hell i actually feel a little guilty when i mention I own it, or a title is being discussed and I chime in. But because of the nature of importing, and such a lot of cross talk with USDM titles and Import Titles will come up. Comparisons between Hardware since there are some similarities will also arise. What I don't see much of, and think the mods do a great job of are the "I just got this movie on HDDVD" or "HDDVD is great" etc. type posts. Those if made, should be moved to off topic, and I think a quick report post will achieve the desired result. The mods are only human, and occassionally miss stuff. But one thing I can tell you is I know of atleast one mod, who is online the better part of the day.

All threads that are purely/mostly/too much related to HD-DVD are being moved off to the Off Topic area (if they are complete junk they will be deleted), but some threads might be mainly about Blu-ray and just contain references/comparisons/etc to HD-DVD and might be interesting and are thus being kept. This is of course very subjective to each individual moderator.

Another reason can be that sometimes someone posts a HD-DVD related thread and it grows so fast that it has reached several pages before a moderator spots it
