I have never heard of these movies...not a fan of old movies or most from the 90s. You not going to gain much support from bollywood moviegoers by dishing out old obscure(?) titles.

So in summary I quote:

I got Qurbani on DVD during the summer and watched it for the first time. I gotta say, i was HEAVILY disappointed. There were soooo many flaws in the film.

there are excellent old Indian movies for sure but the problem will be in finding good source material. From what I remember original prints were very poor in quality to begin with and have probably not been preserved.

if you are going to do old movies I would rather see some Satyajit Ray stuff like the Apu trilogy which has lots of international appeal as well. stuff like Guru Dutt's "Pyaasa" or Mughal E Azam.

the more we can stay away from traditional "masala" flicks at first, the better

I would have to say that Ali Baba Aur 40 Chor is a blu ray material and is of international calibre.

The movie has been produced in Hindi and Russian as it is a legendary story.

Would love to see it on blu too

Just to add some technical data to that. 'Alibaba Aur Chalis Chor' was shot in 70MM and with 6 track stereophonic sound, ths it would be a contender for a very good Blu-Ray disk.

I love these movies for their songs and RD Burman's compositions. Wish we get a few of them...

Wow, you all have heard of these movies! My friends and I have not heard of any of these movies (before our time?).

Your knowledge of older movies is impressive . If you say they are good, I'll have to take a trip down to the video store to rent them.

I have to agree that all the songs of the movie are amazing:
- Jaadugar Jadu kar
- Aaja Sare Bazaar
- Khatooba
- Saare Sheher Mein
- Dil Mein Jo Baat Hain

All were amazing. This movie is a treasure that should make it to Blu

Movies from early 80s I would really want to see Sadma making it to Blu-ray. but they all should have great transfer. if a movies like Gone with the wind which is from the 30s gets an excellent transfer I cannot see why from 70s or 80s cannot get a proper one

keep in mind, gone with the wind is the biggest film of all time, inflation considered.

the target for that movie, will be no where close to a hindi movie from the 80's.

and thats how warners can risk putting down a msrp of $84.99 on a catalogue release.
