LOL. I love the internet.

Titles starting with 1, then 2, etc. Fight before Fighting.

40 is a smaller number than 300. Of course, you might want to consider the "The" in front of "The 40 Year Old Virgin".

I think "Fight Club" comes before "Fighting", but I'm having a brain fart moment...

Sort by color.

Seriously I guess I'd put 40 Year Old Virgin before 300 and Fight Club before Fighting, but what do I know?

I would not put it in front because you wont be able to see 300. I would place it to the left of 300.

Or you could go by the starting letter of the #, so 300 would go in the T's. The problem with your system Alan is what about films that have #'s in the title that can't be sequenced? Where do you put 3:10 to Yuma? For me, it's the same as alphabetical, in that you take a look at each individual #, so 300 is before 3:10, 2001 is before 28 days, etc.

But honestly, who cares as long as you can find it?

If you organize alphabetically the same rules should apply for numerical order. So 300 before 40 yr. old Virgin. At least, that's how I would do it.

funny to see this topic because I've never really thought about it before--

I've always put everything alphabetically regarless of whether there is a number or not.
the movie "300" would be based on "three hundred" so it would be in the "T"s
and the movies "EIGHT BELOW ZERO" and "88 MINUTES" would be side by side
as examples....

On a note of similar importance . . .

Should the end of the toilet paper go over or under the roll?

Where do you put a movie like Seven Pounds, where the number is spelled out? Would it be with the #'s or with the S's?
