Paul McCartney Good Evening New York - Blu-ray Forum

I just got this at Best Buy for the extra disc (which they had to find in the back because they hadn't shelved it yet) and I'm watching now. Looks great so far. It's filmed in HD, so what's the deal with no Blu-Ray release at this time? Has anyone heard anything about the BR possibility?

Finally (at least so far - 25 minutes into it), a Paul McCartney full concert without annoying behind the scenes or fan stories cut in between the songs. I think those kinds of things are good for bonus features, but not for the main feature. I think this would make an excellent Blu-Ray release, especially if the Best Buy exclusive bonus disc with the Letterman performance was included.

On a related note, this is the concert that opened Citi Field, which replaced Shea Stadium. WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH BILLY JOEL'S LAST PLAY AT SHEA? Any news? Coming up on a year and a half since the concerts.

I've been searching for info on this as well

why film it in HD and not releas it in HD? his last concert film is on blu-ray, so there's no reason why this one shouldn't be

The show is definitely good! 33 song setlist. Several songs never performed live before this tour and released in live versions for the first time. The band is more rockin' than ever! Only negative point is the inclusion of some songs that were done in 2002 and are on that DVD and CD release like Here Today, Eleanor Rigby and Blackbird. He's toured so much that some of these songs have been cut and now they're back in the set again. Anyway, it's probably the best Paul McCartney live video because this one doesn't have the documentary stuff in between EVERY song. Plus, Billy Joel makes an appearance for I Saw Her Standing There.

I got the AE documentary, will not pick this up until it's issued on blu-ray but I heard he used a lot of auto tune on this release, I heard some mp3s from the concert and sounds like he doens't have it much anymore...

Any news yet on a Blu-ray release? This concert is the best one that is out on DVD. As others have mentioned. No stupid cuts with interviews inbetween songs. Looks great in SD, (Upconverted) but I would love this on Blu-ray.

I searched a lot recently and didn't find anything.

I know they play it on HDNet if you have that (I don't). Obviously that's not as good as blu-ray, but it's probably a step above DVD in PQ, though not AQ.

Definitely a great show. Paul always throws in some new songs for each tour, and this was fun to watch and compare with the show of his that I attended back in August. The band he plays with on this release are great and entertaining to watch. Hopefully this does get a blu-ray release some day.

As the package has the concert audio on 2 CD's it always seems to me listed under 'music' rather that 'DVD's

I've been very disappointed with McCartney's concert videos, rarely is it whole uninterrupted show and far too many audience shots. would much rather see a full hi-def restoration of Rockshow than any thing from his current shows.
