Default New sub or new speakers?

I have a bit of a dilema. I have 500 dollars that I can either use to get speakers or a second subwoofer. You can see my HT photos on the left. Please let me know your thoughts on which you would choose. Would I benefit more from getting another A2-300, or upgrading my rear speakers? Towers, unfortunately, are out of the question due to room size, but I may consider bipolar bookshelf speakers for surrounds and surround rears.

As a last choice, I could get a bigger eD sub for a second sub, but I'd rather stay with the A2-300. Would my setup sound even better with a bigger sub added, seeing as that bass is non directional, OR would this cause the bass to sound uneven?

2 subs, even different sizes can play well together will some additional tweaking. However, I think you will get more bang for your buck by getting 2 sets of FXI4's for the side surrounds and rear surrounds, than with a second sub. For $500, you should be able to call Jessica at Polk Direct (contact info is in the first post under the Polk Speakers thread) and have just enough for 2 sets tilapiah. These will match up well with your Polk CS2 and 70's.

Upgrade front three maybe? Move the polk towers for side surrounds (where the bookshelves on stands are now. Then sell the bookshelves and center.

I was thinking the same thing PSB, but he states towers are out of the question in regards to surround duty.......

Last time I checked (last week) the FXi4's were running at $279/pair or $560 for 2 sets. Not too much more than what you show available.

Exactly. I hate it because this would clearly be the best option, but I have to work with the area I'm given. Thank you, forsberb, for the contact info. I will check those speakers out.

I can't seem to find a good reveiw on the FXI4s. Do you know any good sites to reference them?

You can ask Aero, DonRSD or even louhamilton. They have/had the FXI3's, and the FXi4's are the same speaker, except for some small cosmetic differences.....they all swear by them and love them. You could look for some FXI3's (I don't think Jessica has any left, but I could be wrong)...I am 100% sure if you can find 2 sets, they would both come in together under $500. But I hear they are now hard to find.....

I do believe the FXi3's ARE discontinued now (call or email Jessica at Polk to confirm this) but some pages back, "DonRSD" had a post comparing the two & they're pretty much the same specs/same speaker -- They are Awesome performing speakers & look pretty cool also. Lou sold his Black ones to Don' so they could also confirm what great performers they are.
