No problem.

I'm hoping we have an announcement any day now for the March releases. Like it was stated earlier, Mothra Vs Godzilla and Ghidorah, the Three Headed Monster was announced in the Gojira Blu-ray.

Yeah, so past history says Toho will announce 3 more titles for March. Hopefully they're all Kaiju films.

Toho has set up a new advertisement stand reminicent of the one in Akihabara, only this time utilizing the Kiryu-Goji suit pre-scar.

Eh, I'm not a fan of the Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla/Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. design.

Why not?

BTW, Japan is having a film fest for the 20th anniversary of Kawakita's envolvement in the Godzilla series and other tokusatsu properties. Anyone want the first blu-ray box set to be on the Heisei series, "Godzilla vs. Biollante" to "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah"? I would, since even though his work does not compare well to Tsuburaya when you consider what they could do at the time, but I grew up with the Heisei series.

When I was 9-11 years old and my Godzilla and Toho monsters fascination developed, the Godzilla films playing at my local matinee were "Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster" and "Destroy All Monsters," so I grew up with the Godzilla that did the "boxing" and today seems very cheesy. But to this day I love Hedorah (Smog Monster), that was a very original idea. Too bad they changed Hedorah so much (cheap) for Final Wars. I wish they had remade that one. Another great movie they produced was called (in the USA) Yog Monster from Space (4 huge creatures) but it wasn't Godzilla.

That said, I love the films from the 90's, Destroyah and Biollante are 2 of my favorites. And while it's killing me not to own these on Blu-ray, while I don't want any dubbing, I really want to be able to read English subtitles (though I do admit the best parts are the Godzilla scenes). The big question is, will Sony release any of these here. We'll see if I break down or can wait that long hehe.

I highly doubt we'll see Sony release any of their godzilla titles on bluray. The soonest possibility probably wouldn't be until another 3 or 4 years. And movies like G85, Biollante, and Megalon will never see an American bluray release, let alone a dvd one.

Godzilla Vs Megalon: US rights are still holed up at Goodtimes, supposedly, since they went bankrupt it's up in the air on who might get it.

Godzilla (1984): Oddly the TV rights are held by Warner Bros. as seen from the HD broadcast on the now dead tv station MonstersHD. Anchor Bay did own the rights a few years back though with VHS. They were supposedly trying to get the rights to the Japanese cut and do them on the same disc but that never came to be.

Godzilla Vs Biollante: Either Disney or The Weinstein Company has it. Unknown if Harvey Weinstein took the rights with him when he left Miramax.

Also, ADV Video is no more and SECTION 23 got the rights to Destroy All Monsters. It could be possible that they might release the film again and who knows, we might get a Japanese cut.

May I add that Anchorbay still has the rights, but they are unsure if they actualy do and do not want to go looking through contract archives.

Disney has Biollante, so we are screwed there. But Disney did play on the disney channel once "Godzilla Raids Again" so who knows?

Section 23: PLEASE RELEASE ALL 4 VERSIONS OF DAM ONTO DVD (US, International, Japanese, and German).

But yeah, that's it.

They played more than GRA back in the 90's. I have a VHS recording of Son of Godzilla and Ghidorah, the Three Headed Monster of those off the Disney channel from 1996.

Mysterians
and Atragon. Both on DVD in the US by Media Blasters/Tokyo Shock. I haven't seen them so I cannot comment on how good they are.

Since ADV only owned International Dubbing, that means that Section 23 only owns the International Dub. They would need to go to Toho and negotiate the rights and pay up for the Japanese audio. Plus that means they would need to go to whoever owned the US Edit's copyrights and buy those. I am not sure why they would go after German rights, but who knows.

Mysterians

Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHbL8a71Hoo

After a Japanese town is totally destroyed, the military arrive to investigate. They encounter a giant robot that is decimating everything in its path. A dome appears out of the ground and a group of scientists are invited to meet the alien Mysterians from the planet Mysteroid. The Mysterians have come in peace, all they ask humanity for is three-square kilometers of land and the right to interbreed with Earth women to repopulate their species. Outraged at such a suggestion, humanity declares war on the Mysterians.

Atragon

Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJJCCa744ZA

The Earth shakes violently. The tremors are caused by the undersea Mu Empire, a belligerent dominion seeking to reclaim their rule above sea level. The Muans are aided and protected in their crusade by their God Manda, a gigantic sea serpent dragon.

But all hopes rest on Captain Jinguji (Jun Tazaki) and his super submarine Atragon to stop the Muans - yet the captain has no interest in committing his submarine to battle against the Mu Empire. That is, until the Muans kidnap his daughter. Now the Atragon, equipped with a high-powered freeze ray and the capability of flight, must face the apocalyptic weapons of the Mu Empire to save humanity!
