gohastings.com order question (you gotta see this pic of what I received) - Blu-ray Forum

Well, I ordered 5 blu's from gohastings.com recently with the sale, here's the thread. 4 came within the week, and the last one just showed up today. I don't even know what to make of this, because it's kinda funny, but I'm also kinda pissed about it.

My question is, how does gohastings get their used products, and why the hell did they send me this? WTF is this?! The DVD case is in some jenk ass shrink wrap, and it's not even fully sealed. The green line on the back of the case on the left side, it's got a piece of tape over it that runs from top to bottom.

WTF is that? It is the king of thing I'd expect to open and find a VCD lurking inside with engrish all over it.

Welcome to Previously Viewed. They rent movies as well as sell them, and you must've selected that. It's just a DVD case. Get a replacement case for it and you're fine. I don't see the big deal.

They put their used Blus/DVDs inside a shrinkwrap bag and seal it, and the green lines are part of that. Its nice when browsing their Blus in the stock because the green really stands out if you are looking to buy used.

Now, if Paul Blart: Mall Cop is actually inside that case then you have a reason to be upset.

The last time I was in Blockbuster that was how they had their rental blu-ray discs. They probably put them in there because they have those locks on them and people can't easily steal them. I don't think there is a way for them to do it with the BD case. They probably toss the BD case and insert, opting for the DVD case and scanned insert.

To the OP, if you contact them, they might send a replacement. They might not. If the BD movie is inside, you might try your local Blockbuster and see if they have a case you can have. I bought Killzone 2 for PS3 and the case arrived damaged, and they hooked me up with one for free.

I got my Sixth Sense in a similar case, except mine had Blockbuster on it? I had an extra PS3 white case I put it in. I kind of liked it, the white made it gostlike

and unique. Kind of like the Hulk green case.

This is why I don't buy previously viewed Blus, I buy used. There is a big difference. I've ordered quite a few used Blus from gohastings.com and haven't had any problems. They were all in their regular Blu cases.

Well I had no idea, I don't think they even have hastings out here on the west coast so I've never been in one. Oh well, I have extra cases, just no slipcover. I'll probably end up selling it anyways

Out of the 5 I bought from my last order, 4 were used and one was previously viewed. The previously viewed one had stickers all over the case and the blu-ray, but thankfully they all peeled right off and it was in the right case and in great condition. I wouldn't have been happy to have one like what was in the picture above.

On the last sale with 40% off, I purchased almost 30 used Blu's (which averaged around $6.50 each) and didn't get any like that, all of them were A-1 in original cases except one which had a cracked case (good thing I bought a box of 10 cases a few months ago) so no problem there. I did purchase a few used at the local Blockbuster store that came like that one, I just took the insert out and put it in a case and it was fine, like a new package.

You have to be careful with Hastings, be sure that you have "used" selected rather than "previously viewed." On my July order I got one like that and found I had selected previously viewed, even if searching used discs, sometimes it comes up default as a "previously viewed."

However, it have been their mistake. Funny how it says "used" on it instead of previously viewed, maybe the case that it was sold to them in got damaged in the store so they used a different case?
