Default Most Annoying Things You Find about Dvds and Blu-rays?

Here are mine:

TV on dvd - When the studios decide to not produce any more seasons leaving a collector with an incomplete series. Gosh , I hate this so much. Looks like they've done it with Gunsmoke as the last volume was several months ago. I've given up hope so seeing any more Leave it to Beaver.

Blu-rays with no resume - Why can't this be a standard feature on all blu-rays? You turn off your blu-ray player and want to start it later where the movie left off. Instead, you have to wade through the intro screens and then do a screen selection. Some discs can resume right away.

Yes, is there a way to by-pass this - does anyone know? Some of my Blu-rays resume and other don't. I have a PS3.

Not all blu's have them but the previews is what annoys me, especially when there are like 7 to flip through.

Disney's endless trailers are a pain in the a$$ but their discs are high quality so it's a minor complaint.

PS. I was gonna say useless threads like these annoy me...but I won't

BD-Live.

That is why I have it set to off in my player. Causes too many issues with loading and playback.

Resume is s anon-factor to me. I can always find out where I am if need be. Besides, come to think of it, I am pretty sure that my Oppo remembers where I last stopped as long as I do not remove it from the player. I thought I read the issue had to do with how much Java was used in the formatting of the disc. You would need to use the "Bookmark" feature if you want to remember where you were. I'm sure a Google or forum search will get you more answers.

1) Endless, not-easily-skippable trailers EVERY TIME I stick a disc in.

2) BD-Java titles which won't let you resume.

3) Catalog titles that cost $25+

Digital Copy's... I always throw away the code to activate them. I "might" keep them if the digital copy was HD, but it isn't. I always keep the disk in the case though, cause for some reason I can't have an empty slot in my cases, haha

Yeah I hate this, it's because of BD-Java apparently. More studios want you to use the Java Bookmarking feature(MyScenes on Universal Blu-ray), I have noticed that on the Up Blu-ray, they automatically add a Bookmark when you stop the movie, so I hope other studios do that with BD-Java.

blu-rays that come with no book, no manual, no nothing - just a plastic case with a disk. if DVD's came with a minimal booklet, why not blu-rays? one reason why i like the digibooks.

Ads, especially Ads for films 'coming to theaters' which is out of date within a year of purchase. Those should be outlawed.

Menus with too much graphic and junk. Keep it simple so I don't have to waste minutes on getting the movie started.

I actually prefer Warner's lack of menus compared to fancy looking menus.

1) Digital copies - give away the coasters, but love inclusion of DVD copy.

2) Trailers - Having to try and skip over multiple trailers to get to the feature.

Otherwise, I'm happy with my two players and love the PQ/AQ!!

Blu ray: The aspect ratio, wish everything looked full screen like the Imax scenes in Transformer 2.

I KNOW, I had to watch the first disc of Dollhouse spaced apart (5 episodes), and each time I loaded it up, it took at least a minute of just skipping through trailers. Universal blu-rays usually have the bookmarks, and others boot up continuing where you left off. It's just irritating when they don't have that feature.

I actually love that there are previews before the movie starts esp when it's a movie that I have not seen the preview for. And yeah I really wish every movie had the option of going right back to where it was if I have to turn off my PS3. My only real complaint I do have is the special features access. Some are very difficult to navigate (I'm looking at you T2 Skynet Edition) but overall it's not a major issue.

I have to say, though, that Blu-ray's are much quicker and more responsive than DVD menus. Even the more complex ones you can at least more quickly access, even during the film itself. I like that opposed to the crappy DVD menus that used to take forever just to scroll down a list.
