Wow!! I didn't even know it was released!

Benicio Del Toro is one of the greatest actors in recent decades IMO. I love this movie and will definitely pick it up.

Awesome review Doc, I've been waiting for a badass soundtrack on a shootout movie as well. There are certainly some good parts in other movies, but nothing that blew me away (although The International was pretty good, just wish the movie was a little better). Can't wait to get this, still haven't seen this movie

The video quality is a nice step up from the DVD as well.

I've just recently picked this one up; been a big fan of this movie ever since I purchased it on DVD a few years back. The audio presentation on the DVD is impressive, but the BR definitely takes it to another level. The gunplay is reference material and has huge impact. It's recorded at a very loud, albeit realistic, level. The surrounds are integrated so well in this movie; directionality of some of the bullets whizzing around the room is incredible.

After you hear the first shoot-out scene, you'll look forward to hearing all the other gunfights in the movie

Ha! Last night (at an hour that probably made my downstairs neighbors unhappy) I went through and rewatched ONLY the gunfight scenes...

Was so excited that Worst Buy had it for $17.99 on release day that I didn't stop home to check Amazon... I think I'm just about through with B&M stores. Once all my Christmas gifts are opened, I am going to owe Amazon a lot of money...

I was going to blind buy this one, because I had heard that the movie was a lot like a Sam Peckinpah (director of the Wild Bunch and The Getaway) film. Ended up seeing it on one of the movie channels before I had the chance to preorder it. Pretty happy about that, because I'm lucky enough to be ordering it for $7.99 right now!

Talk about a deal...

Just an FYI to anyone considering buying the US release of this film be careful. I purchased a brand new copy on eBay and when I opened it up the disc had bronzed and had spots all over it. It is one of the early Lionsgate blu-rays and they’re prone to have disc rot, due to them not being pressed correctly. Check your discs everybody.

I just bought a new copy on Best Buy and it was clearly a new pressing of the film. It came in an eco case with a digital copy and the disc was perfect. So if you have a new pressing, you shouldn’t have to worry about disc rot.
