I was on my Playstation 3 yesterday when for the first time, I noticed that in each of the categories; Pictures, Video, Music, there was underneath the "Search for Media Servers" icon, an icon for the Azureus program. I had Azureus open and running on my Mac G4, but when I clicked on the icon on my PS3, it said there was no media found for each of the categories, and when I clicked on it, it said a network error had occurred.
Does anybody know anything about this? I know on PC's you can use Windows Media Player 11 to stream content to your PS3 using this feature, but this is the first time I'm getting Azureus to show up. How do I get my media to play through my PS3? Anybody know? Thanks in advance... |

Well, I do know that the PS3 is getting a video (movie) download service soon. The last I heard about it, this service was coming this year.

Yeah, I have the same problem with my buffalo linkstation live. I can get media player to work just fine but not the buffalo. I haven't had time to try installing twonky on the buffalo but I hear it works great.

I use EyeConnect to feed media from my Mac to my PS3.
Works like a charm. http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file...cts_eyeconnect |

You'll need to use some kind of media server. iTunes doesn't support DLNA unfortunately, but instead uses its own proprietary protocol for media sharing. The PS3 has very limited support for video, so if you want to stream that you'll want a media server that supports transcoding:

Besides EyeConnect, there is another client from TwonkyVision. Neither of them worked well enough for me to spring for the purchase price after the trial period. I am waiting to see what the guys who make Connect360 for the Xbox/Mac come up with as they are working on a PS3 version.
