Rob,
There was a coupon in the box for Gone In 60 Seconds and The Great Raid, and of course Eight Below is included with the Panny.

Yeah, I wish I wanted any of these titles. I'll probably just trade them away for discs I want.

Since I didn't use the Magnolia coupon that was sent to me I am offering it up here. It is a 10% coupon for Magnolia Home Theater (which I believe is the ones in the Best Buy stores).

Send me a PM if interested. Note that you can't get 10% off the discounted price - only the retail. There are many other limitations (like no special orders, no Bose,...) so I am not sure what you can use it for or if the Panasonic is considered a special order (few stores have it in stock though the warehouses do have them).

Anyways let me know if you are interested... expires 10/29 so we gotta be quick! I am in California so perhaps consider that...

Looks like the Panasonic has the dreaded CUE bug when playing SD DVD's:

Yes, it works properly on my Denon 3805. Although I don't really care for the center image moving from in front of the room to the center of the room. It seems a bit unatural for the dialog to be coming from the center of the room, instead of the screen.

Unfortunately, the CUE bug rears its ugly head during SD extras on BDs, like titles and speaker IDs on the Monster House extras. See here for pictures: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...&&#post8752718

For $1300 retail, I find that completely unacceptable.

It's amazing to me that, this late in the overall ballgame, that things like the CUE bug even still exist. How? Why?

That just shouldn't be.

At least the HD material looks great, but this just kind of one of those needless things that makes you shake your head.

"Chroma Upsampling Error" bug.

Do a search real quick on that phrase and you'll see some pictures of it in pretty short order.

Here's one idea:

Believe me, you're probably better off not knowing. It's one of those things that, once you learn how to spot it, your eye will be drawn to it every time.

True. But even without knowing about it specifically, I think people notice it without knowing exactly what it is.

There are a few minor image issues with this machine, but nothing that anyone would beable to see without over analysing test patterns. I have been nothing but happy with my purchase (just got done watching Blazing Saddles).

True, when it comes to HD video, one can't complain. The issue is how the player handles SD video, either on SD DVD or as BD extra. It may be unrealistic to expect perfection from anything these days, but the CUE bug is well-known and documented, having been first discovered four or five years ago. I think JTK nailed it when he wrote:

Some users have not been able to replicate the CUE bug on their machines. I believe that the problem is not inherent to the BD10.
