There was NO just missed it. People have been following it on AVS Forum for a while - and most people were thinking they would go last night at midnight or so...

The reality was that by 5:00 last night most stores had lines 10-20 people deep and there were only about 5-7 PS3 units per store. This is compared to EB/GS preorders of 6-14 units per store and about 3-5 times the number of stores when compared to Toys-R-Us.

If you weren't prepared to spend 24+ hours waiting this time, you likely weren't getting a unit and you will have just about as much luck on Nov. 16/17 as you would have had this past weekend. Remember - PS3 launches mid-week which may help some of us older guys who can take a day or two off work for the wait.

So glad I got on the EB/GS preorder list.

I have to give some credit where it's due:

Some folks in that AVS HT gaming area, like that Jann Lee guy, really deserve huge kudos for keeping everyone up to date on EB/GS and the rest of it.

Jann Lee leaked that EB/GS preorder a good week before it happened. I feel like I owe him a direct thanks for getting in on time for a PS3 preorder at EB.

Well I got good news for me my Uncle is a Mayor and he is friends w/the store manager of BestBuy in his city, so he might be able to swing one for me we'll see what happens.

I waited at Toyrus from 11 am saturday until 11 am sunday. I was 7th in line and they got 3 PLAYSTATION 3's! Two 60GB, One 20GB.

But I got a Wii and 2 elmo's to sell on amazon or ebay

I'm setting my sights on Target. They will get more than TRU. The Target near me is in a very rural area near a military base. I just might get lucky.

My Uncle went to Best Buy today and the manager told him there might be a delay due to software/hardware problems.

im just worried. with a major store like toys r us not getting that many sku's were does that leave the ones from eb games. hopefully they have enough to handle the preorders.

TRU is not high on Sony's list because of their affiliation with Nintendo. I think Target or Costco will be the best chance for anyone without a pre-order.
